My Chemical Romance, Blink-182, Rage Against The Machine. Almost went with Nine Inch Nails, but they always seem to be much better at their own shows than at festivals.

Yeah this was my interpretation. As for Deftones, I know they aren't really what people might expect at Reading these days, but I heard they've gained a new wave of popularity with Gen Z through TikTok (as have Skindred, apparently) so I figured they might be viable due to that.

Being a fan of this festival has been like going through the five stages of grief, and I think I've finally arrived at acceptance. The festival I loved is gone and never coming back, and I'm glad we've finally got to a point where there's not even a pretence of it still being even vaguely a rock event. The last few years have had just enough to keep me interested in maybe potentially going, stringing me along with the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, Rage Against The Machine, A Day To Remember, Foo Fighters and Biffy Clyro giving me too much FOMO to check out completely, but we're past that now. It's not just a bad run of form, it won't get better. It's over.

I have no hope of anything that will appeal to me, yet somehow I still expect disappointment.

Blink-182 / Fall Out Boy My Chemical Romance / Panic! At The Disco Green Day / Paramore

I wonder if Slam Dunk could pull off a major coup and book them to headline... would fit the crowd much better there.
