  1. At some point that demo is gonna be brown bread and then what for the festival?
  2. Yeah agree with all of this (especially about liking Harry Styles the person more than the musician...). I think if some had their way it would be white blokes playing guitar x 3 every year, Glasto is probably the only festival in the UK that can afford to takes risks with headliners and it's a good thing it does.
  3. Love Ye and would love to see him at the festival again but can't see it, too much smoke with all his trump associations.
  4. I think there's one politician who's invading a sovereign nation. Both sidesing Putin and Biden/BJ dear me.
  5. "Bigger globally for sure, but think it's a pretty close run thing in the UK"
  6. This is circular reasoning no? Killers are relevant enough to headline because they've headlined other festivals. I don't really object to either FATM or Killers headlining, both safe boring booking of bands way past their heyday.
  7. Bigger globally for sure, but think it's a pretty close run thing in the UK. Your original point was about how relevant they were and she's just as irrelevant in the modern music landscape as The Killers.
  8. This is big test for him, been banging on about wanting this investment for ages. Feel like it's a bit make or break for him in terms of future leadership.
  9. That is what I've heard, and who can blame ya!
  10. I'm sure you would but I know plenty who wouldn't and plenty who'd see looking after their family as a priority over paying tax cos that's the right thing for them to do on an individual basis - why closing the loopholes is so important. I'm also almost certain that the blairs don't make direct decisions about their finances and it's probably some smart accountant who'd done this for them.
  11. I won't go and see her but rate her way of announcing that she's playing - clearly very stoned and half way through your insta story.
  12. This is obviously an extremely scummy thing to do but the issue is not with the individual doing it but the laws that allow them to.
  13. Arctic Monkeys - wpsiatwin kendrick - good kid maad city nas - illmatic arcade fire - funeral
  14. aye but don't think either are held in the same regard as radiohead
  15. I like IR and KOL, both good albums but just don't think they're worthy of the plaudits they receive. 6/7 out of 10 albums. Just my opinion maaaaaan
  16. cba to go back through the thread so apologies if already been said but: Radiohead are a bang average indie band who got lucky and happened to come through at a time when there wasn't really much guitar based music. If they'd started 5 years later and broke during the indie boom of the late 00s then they'd be part of the pack like the killers, arctic monkeys, etc Kanye is the most important musician of the 21st century.
  17. Agreed with all of this and I like that some nights I'm forced away from pyramid. It seems like they're in a good place with newer headliner (Stormzy, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran etc), a vintage/classic act (Stones, Macca, Cure) and an established act (Arctics, Killers, Coldplay). Obviously 2020 would have been different with taylor/king kenny in pot one but it's rare that there's not normally at least one headliner I'm keen on.
  18. Was chatting to girlfriend about this last night, feels inevitable with Starmer playing the Kinnock role. He’s shifted the internal party Overton window so Burnham will be more palatable to the left that rejected him in 15.
  19. Starmer being heckled when talking about his mother dying in hospital. The lefts inability to read the room really is endless.
  20. Must be said this probably isn’t a representative crowd. Would love to know how many people in general public go once and never again.
  21. Been every year since 09 - I'm aware that one day it'll have to stop and I won't get a ticket or life will get in the way or I'll feel to old. When that I happens I know I'll look back and be glad that I made the most of every opportunity.
  22. It definitely feels like it's better now than when I started going 10 years ago or so. And more public shaming.
  23. tbh it's very typical of the left of the party - call everyone who doesn't hold their narrow world view tory scum and then act shocked when no one votes for them and everyone hates them.
