Queen just aren't Queen without Freddie sad face
The rest of the band's opinion of their own importance vs Freddie's is hilarious. Reason Sacha Baron Cohen left the Freddie biopic

warm up a massive tour with Glastonbury
Surely it'd be a great way to sell tickets? People see her on BBC coverage and then go out and buy tickets

I do find it a bit mental that The Who still tour and headline given Townsends past, artists have been cancelled for far far less.

AM is their big international record though isn't it? My impression is first 4 albums weren't as big world wide.

Depends what you think pleases a crowd. They still lean heavily on AM when I've seen them over the last few years.
The world doesn't need to hear Snap Out Of It anymore.
Was thinking whatever people say/FWN. Haven't played mardy bum or flourescent in ages could see them bringing it out as Glastonbury is "special occasion"
-
Do we think AM will bring out the crowd pleasers or is it gonna be Sheffields premier lounge jazz act only?
-
Someone described Matt Healy the other day as Urban Outfitters Ian Watkins which I think, is very funny

There's plenty of acts who are big in the UK but wouldn't get close to headlining an American festival, not sure why it's hard to understand the reverse of this is also true.

This is my first year going to glasto so naturally my first year closely following this forum. Is it normally this chaotic? 🤣
Bizarrely this feels like the most contentious set of headliners we've had on here that I can remember (presuming it's AM/GNR/REG). Normally it's much more settled/much less acrimonious than this.

Ah yes the only three bases, Korea, Latino and USA.

Another modern term that has now become cringe worthy due to it's over use on Reddit, Youtube and various other online social platforms.
This is the original meaning, but now kids throw it around any and every time they disagree with somebody.sounds like copium from you no cap frfr

A couple of posters on here, including the guy who runs the place, have had "concrete" info from sources saying GnR are doing it.
There's also Emily's unprompted bigging up of them and that mysterious spike in betting a while ago, which now pretty obviously looks like someone found out and lumped on.
So yeah, it's more that unsubstantiated rumours.
Indeed, I think it's what the kids refer to as "copium"

Wouldn't be shocked if Melvin is speaking to them right now about 24...
Especially given how this years line up has gone down like hot sick with the traditional reading crowd

It never was and never has been just world music. It's on there but alongside reggae, jazz, funk and other general psychedelic weirdness. In the Jazzworld days it was still hosting acts like Amy Winehouse.
It's fine to do both provided that it doesn't cause bigger acts to move to smaller stages and cause overcrowding.
-
Also realistically WH is 3rd biggest stage but if they're putting on "world music" they will not attract the 3rd biggest crowd. Think if festival wants to continue to let in the amount of people they did last year they need to be pragmatic about stage allocation.

Ok, any decent clips of them recently to change minds?

Burst out laughing watching this
I'm convinced this is going to go down as one of the all time worst headlining shows

Once you get back into the 80s it's more difficult to define, as there was often quite a substantial difference between Stage Times and placement on the Poster/adverts - but it appears Van did both top the poster and close the stage in 1982.
He did also top the poster in both 1987 and 1989 (with 88 being fallow), but didn't close the stage those years. Either way he's a former headliner by any standard.
It's all in the book:

Got nowt to do with that. My point was that your point stating fractional odds are for cretins is inherently wrong... Decimal odds are for whoever, but certainly more useful for cretins than people who can actually understand numbers. No shame in admitting you ain't topmarks, bri. 😘
couldn't hear you over your rattling zimmer frame and clicking dentures

Qualifying with living and then saying of all time seems like a contradiction in terms to me. Can't be of all time if you're discounting the dead.
