    Banned

Morning all! Could you please elaborate on what you mean by "banned"? Is it that you can't access the site? Would like to get this resolved so any further info is welcome. Thanks!
  2. Sorry about this - trying to resolve... Have messaged @donthaveacoolname directly.
  3. Not had much time to visit the forum today but hopefully will in the next few days to catch up. Affiliate sales (other than tickets, which are already a part of the site) are definitely a part of future plans and something that will be explored. If you have any info that you think might help @theciderviking I'm all ears! Would also love to have a merch store with branded gear/clothing/accessories and maybe designs made by users who could earn a percentage of any sales.
  4. Thank you! I'll certainly do my best to steer this ship in the right direction. I appreciate your support and hope the situation will improve enough for you to reconsider. The main thing is that you're still here 🙂 Thanks for the welcome Crazy! I very much appreciate the importance of this community. Will look into the banned account - that's on the list. Thanks for your offer for moderation - will get back to you about that. Are there no public forum rules here? If not, that's something I'd like to address. regarding the IP bans, the plan is to remove them all but I'm a little concerned about a potential tidal waves of spam and bots that might unleash. However, preventing swathes of IPs from accessing the site is not in anybody's interest and prevents legitimate users from having access. If people are happy to organise I can only encourage that! Sounds like good fun Thanks a lot and couldn't agree more. I'm genuinely very grateful for the amazing welcome. Really looking forward to see the planned work start and hopefully make this an even better place to be than it already is 🙌 Thank you! Thank you to everyone I didn't reply to directly as well. I'm humbled by the very warm welcome and I hope you all love what's to come. I'm very much feeling the positivity here which I'm very, very grateful for and don't take for granted. You lot are all right 😁
  5. It would be at least a couple of years as far as I can tell. As long as it takes really. I'm here for the site, not the other way around. Nice to meet you too and thank you! I very much appreciate that 🙂 Will be in touch regarding content. Thanks! I'm very excited about it all. It's a great place and I want to ensure it stays that way. I know it means a lot to a lot of people. Haha! It's got its quirks, that's for sure 😄 That's brilliant 🤣 You're hired! Thank you for the welcome and very well said. I wouldn't want this site to be about any individual. It's about festivals and a community spirit so let's keep it that way. So nice to hear about how you've been positively effected by this site! Thank you! And thank you for not cancelling your membership. It really makes a huge difference to the running of the site and I'm really thankful. Hope it doesn't disappoint. I realise how important this place is to many people so that's definitely something I'd like to protect as much as possible. We're all in it together I feel. I'm very touched at the very warm welcome from everyone. I hope so! Thanks 🙂 Thanks a lot! Really appreciate it and glad you've been on the receiving end of some kindness from the people here. Nicely said 😊 Thank you very much 🤣 Thanks! That sounds unfortunate. Appreciate the contribution! Will see what we can do about that - will talk to Neil...
  6. No worries Neil. That's pretty much what I thought the situation was. Doesn't sound like much else can be done in this case, sadly. I'll probably stick to this account for official eFestivals business and use the other one for actual festivalling discussion if I ever get around to it. I'd welcome any suggestions you may have. A dedicated thread might be a good idea at some point, definitely.
  7. Haha! Sadly there's no huge mystery. I've had an account for 7-8 years but never posted anything so not particularly interesting history. Might use it in the future for personal posts here. I'll consult with Neil to see what can be done but I understand how it might not be that simple.
  8. No worries, I'm sure we can sort that at some point. Thank you! Glad to be here.
  9. Thank you all! Will get back to you individually but am currently at work...
  10. Thank you! Absolutely, that's what it's all about. Regrettably I haven't! Not for a lack of trying though - just haven't been able to get my hands on a ticket yet. Fingers crossed for next year!
  11. Hi all! Time for an introduction. As some of you may have heard, eFestivals is now under new ownership and I’m the ‘Iggy’ you might have seen mentioned. Firstly, I’d like to thank Neil for creating this site and fostering this brilliant community, and for being a genuinely lovely guy with the best intentions at heart at all times. He’s done an incredible job over the past couple of decades. It takes something special for a site to survive 20+ years and that’s in no small part down to the community itself. There’s a spirit of camaraderie here and a level of passion you don’t often see in online communities. This makes it quite special in my eyes. I’ve worked with the site and with Neil for almost a decade now and I love this place. Your enthusiasm for festivals is infectious to say the least. So much so, that it’s converting me into becoming a festival-goer (yet to get my hands on Glasto tickets though)! The amount of info and great advice available here is unmatched in my opinion, and I’m really thankful that you’re all here. The vision for the site is to make it the primary hub and community for all festival goers. Somewhere you can find anything from the latest festival news and lineup rumours, to reviews, to insightful festival-related journalism, and of course, join the welcoming, vibrant, and friendly community. There are bold plans in place and a growing team of lovely people who are very excited to get working on the site to make it all a reality over the coming months. I really want this to be a place where you find real value and keep the excitement of the festival season going all year around. Festivals to me are all about that feeling of togetherness, belonging, friendship, lots of fun and silliness, and losing yourself in the moment. And some great music doesn’t hurt either! I’d love for this site to reflect this and will do all I can to make it happen. I’m here to build all the bridges and burn none. I’d love to draw on the pool of amazingly passionate and knowledgeable individuals here to help the site grow and flourish. If anyone is interested in writing festival-related content, moderating the forums, or has any ideas and suggestion for improving this lovely place, I’m all ears - please send me a message. And for full disclosure, this project will be run in the style of a non-profit for the medium term. All spare funds the site generates will go back into growing and improving the site. I’m not here to cash in. Any contributions you guys make, whether that’s having your adblock turned off or being extremely generous and paying for Gold membership or buying merch, will make a huge positive impact to the future of this site and will save kittens/puppies (probably). If you have any suggestions, questions, concerns, or anything, please fire away (privately or publicly) and I’ll do my best to address them all. Thank you all! Peace Iggy
  12. Have I turned into a meme already? Amazing. You guys are something else 🤣
  13. Thanks Spacey! That's amazing 😄 I hope you stick around for at least another twenty years! Thank you all for the welcome guys! Not in the setting I envisaged but hey...
  14. Brilliant! A meet-up in my name!? Who would've thunk it! I can only encourage this. You have my blessing
  15. Thank you for the welcome everyone. Let's keep it civil please...
  16. I'm working on it. I think it's fair to say my style is very different to the previous management, for better or worse. I'm quite disappointed at what has unfolded here and I do hope that you all will be understanding as a transition in ownership does take a little while. I do believe Neil's intent is good but this is not the way I would want things handled. I would love to encourage the community to thrive and grow, not stifle it in any way. I'll see if I can reach out to some of the individuals effected to see what reparations can be made.
  17. Thank you very much! Haha! It's great to be here. I feel like I've been chucked into the deep end 😅
  18. It's all a bit unfortunate. Neil is an absolutely lovely guy and has the best intentions - truly. He loves this place and is very protective as Ommadawn mentioned earlier. However, I do think better communication and a friendly approach will go a long way in the future.
  19. Surprise! Iggy here... Heard someone calling my name 😉 Will chime in a bit in this thread later. Currently writing an intro post. Will link to it here when done. Thanks for your patience everyone!
  20. it was " Hello! Roxy Music for legends slot at Glastonbury 2023" from the person who correctly gave me 2022 headliners, and other stuff too over many years.
  21. how come your sources didn't get that matt?
