  1. Just wondered if you wanted any help with the website? I'm still encountering intermittent 500 errors as well as lots of broken images on the site (if peoples avatars are lost, could they not be reset to show the default avatar?)I've got about 20 years experience as a web developer, mostly using PHP and have worked on some fairly prestigious websites (Hilton, Herald Scotland, Reiss). Currently got plenty of spare time as have just finished a masters and still to find a job using my new skills (looking to move into artificial intelligence/machine learning). Not looking for anything in return. Have enjoyed using the forum for years so just want to help it keep going. Was going to send you a private message rather than making it a thread, but realised admin account is set up so it can't receive messages.

  2. On top of a wonderful Christmas weekend spent with numerous family members, my boyfriend proposed to me on Friday. I said yes. It's very exciting and overwhelming!

  3. Our family wedding, due on the 2nd January near Scarborough, a year late, looks like it’s going ahead, despite everything including the bride trying to cancel a week ago as restrictions seemed inevitable (The hotel refused to give the money back hence its still on). Only 4 out of 40 guests have dropped out, for obvious reasons. It’s difficult to believe it’s really happening, and since the postponement a year ago twins were born and the mother nearly died due to complications, but now everyone is well. Added excitement is my son on guitar/vocals is playing the music and I’m the wedding photographer so 2022 is going to begin for us with great enjoyment and positivity!

  4. I went outside to go to my car this morning and one of my neighbours shouted at me ... just behind my car was a guy lying on the floor entangled in his pushbike on the pavement .... my neighbour had called 999 and waited 10 mins to get through but told me an ambulance was on the way .... meanwhile we established the guy was breathing and had a pulse. eventually after pinching him a couple of times as he wasn't stirring any other way . I managed to rouse him and he untangled himself from his bike and staggered up ....I asked him to sit on my neighbours wall but he staggered at me and I stopped him falling he then gave me some verbals for touching him grabbed his bike and staggered off down the road .... The good news is hes likely ok .... but things are gonna hurt today unless the alcohol cushioned the blow

  5. I suspect this is going to be a short thread, as there aren't many of these videos about yet. Santa brought the family a lovely Oculus Quest 2 and I found a three part 360 video walking around the festival: https://youtu.be/ZJexMfmZ5Fg Pretty high quality, I'll leave it an an exercise for the reader to find the other two. One of them went along the railway line, through the Greenpeace field, which I last visited in August for Worthy Pastures, when it was considerably less packed!

  7. How do I feel? Smug, just managed to open a new bottle of bathtub gin in under 5 minutes, without injury or swearing. If you know this gin you know

  9. If it gets people outside consistently exercising who otherwise wouldn’t then I’m 100% behind it. Are you Drakeford in disguise? 😉

  10. For fear purposes more than anything. I think we all accept the NHS needs our help at the moment, but the individual risk from covid itself isn't the biggest threat anymore

  12. The reverse is also true when it comes to Brexit. People like my dad and my partner's dad who voted for it have very comfortable lives - retired, own their own house - and are likely cushioned from a lot of fallout.

  14. Easy answers to complex problems. Little England rhetoric. it’s best Explained in anecdotes. Daily Mail headline fodder. Britain would be better if it wasn’t for all them foreigners ruining everything. Brexit? Don't worry about that we got that done Don’t look under the bonnet “We import nine-tenths of all of our pears.” "We import two-thirds of our cheese… I think that’s a disgrace”. Easy hooks for little England that get her on her side. Rule Britannia. Britannia rules the waves. Britannia doesn’t need to import anything else from the rest of the world we are fine as we are… we need to focus more on looking after our own. It’s like a jukebox of hooks which help brexiteers sleep at night. Perfect weatherspoons ready PM. British jingoism will solve all issues and all it takes is some ruddy good British spirit to become world emperors again.
