  2. Hi all Sorry was MIA again tonight. Just wanted to wish everyone a very merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 and say how great these VMs have been. It has been an absolute pleasure to get to know you all and even meet up with some of you in the real world. Looking forward to further virtual meets as well as seeing you guys on Worthy Farm come June.

  3. I don’t think anyone who is your average R&L goer gives a shit or even considers who plays what Main Stage. It’s just us internet losers who tie ourselves in knots over it. Merry Christmas, you internet losers. Wouldn’t have us any other way.

  4. Excellent sentiments. Not so good news for us is we won’t see our grandkids as their dad tested positive so all are isolating, Mrs C has been told she has to work on Xmas and boxing day as she is a homecarer and staff shortages are really acute. So I’m on my own attempting to cook our Xmas dinner. Luckily you can get turkey pot noodles at this time of year😉 So I’ll be looking to efestivals for Xmas companionship! Those big green gates never seemed more welcoming as they do now. Have a good one everybody.

  6. My perception is that a lot of the 18-21 year old student types get in by volunteering rather than buying tickets anyway. Though I've got no evidence for that. Doubt any demographic shift will be enough to be noticeable without specifically looking for it.

  7. 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house. Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse...... Merry Christmas everyone. Peace and goodwill to all.... Except Tories obviously, they can fuck off!

  8. Due to the forum being offline for such a long time I extended the deadline to the 27th, so plenty of time left still to vote!

  10. Ah I meant to say Govt incompetence! Oh, I appreciate its not the workers fault. But there was a staffing crisis pre covid. I dont see why we should have restrictions because the govt couldn't be bothered sorting it out.

  12. it's because of lack of resources rather than NHS incompetence...fucks sake they've been working their arses off the last few years and all you do is moan on here.

  13. At least we've got this place back to dump our thoughts. Sometimes just typing them out can help get rid of some of the angst. For a lot of people and for quite different reasons 2021 has been pretty shitty. Let's hope 2022 will be turning a corner. Lots of love, take care and look after yourselves all.

  14. Glass Animals didn’t play last year due to the cancellation - their tour dates look like a return is inbound (playing austria a few days after). Gang of Youths were fantastic in 2019 but look ruled out (in New Zealand and Australia around Sziget)

  15. Actually all the news about it being milder makes me more hopeful they'll be less cancellations

  18. They were fine with 'Beans on toast' singing "I want to kill David Cameron" & handing out placards with the same written on them in shangri-la a few years ago.

  19. Rishi looks good until you put him next to some grown ups and then he looks like a little boy playing pretend in his cute little suit.

  21. Exactly this. I'm glad I have a safespace to call Ladbaby the melt he is. I felt so emboldened I even offered a diluted version on twitter. 🤣 Like that Joe Wicks pretending he's doing that lockdown PE stuff out the goodness of his heart... No wayyyyyy man. Also, did you know the reason why we have to put up with him is because his dad's PR firm invested £15m in promoting him after an analysis showed they'd earn at least £18m back. I fucking hate shit like this.

  22. That would be an incredibly strong run but when was the last time they went for something with so little variety for a full evening? I was originally leaning towards 3rd down but it‘s probably not too dissimilar to when Beck subbed. We all know he’s not really big enough anymore but he’s still a big name who’s reputation still lands him big slots at European festivals. Back debating whether Jack White will play at 7pm or 8pm, what a time to be alive!

  23. Just imagining the bizzare world where she's the support for the second Pearl Jam date. (tbh that'd probably increase my chances of going)

  24. Lol what? It's not our job to manage the NHS. why should I agree to limit my life because of NHS incompetence?

  25. Yeah cause im so upper middle class and also the biggest influencer. So all those college kids that surround me come from well off backrounds? I doubt it. If they all had money why does the fest offer a 7 month payment plan. Why are hotels and airbnbs crammed with extra people to keep the cost manageable if thats how you planned your stay vs camping? So I dont know how 0.1% of the audience you see represents the other 99.9. But wait, thats how you perceive it through the instagram lens. We’re willing to part with the money cause we know what we’re getting out of the weekend. The lack of major and visible sponsorship compared to Lolla or ACL makes a huge difference with cost on top of that. No stages are named after a telcom or beer company. Production is top notch along with other things and that costs money. And having actual fully trained staff does put a dent in the budget. Theres always that discussion as to why Glasto cant get this and that due to artists asking for the moon and not going along with the whole charity/benefit reduced fee thing. Well Coachella doesnt have to worry about that cause they arent fighting themselves, just every other promoter in the world. But now Glasto is coming into a quandry of not being the festival for the average person due to the £300 number. So its going to join em in that category of only catering to upper middle class and influencers real soon even though it might already be there. The funny thing is the last couple of Glastos have given that impression due to not having foul weather. No more people covered in piles of mud, just lots of smiles and sunshine. Its attractive to the casual onlooker when they see it on tele. If Glasto was guaranteed to be a wet biblical slog every year you dont get that shift in perception. Sorry if we have blue skys and no rain. 🤷🏻‍♂️
