  7. If that were true the opinion polls would be showing "any other leader being 20 points ahead by now" as we were repeatedly told.

  9. I know I’m in a small minority but I would love it if Springsteen was here instead of TW Classic (I know he’s at TW Classic by the sounds of it so it’s a moot point) but it would be arguably my favourite live artist at my favourite festival and that would just be amazing. Really unsure who the Saturday headliner will be now, but I also hope for a batch of smaller/medium names tomorrow to get a bit of an understanding about the line up. I would have loved Placebo and Interpol on the line up but they’re both ruled out, so instead hoping we might get Beck, The War On Drugs, Foals and a few more of that ilk to fill some decent spots across the weekend

  12. It's a strong lineup, it really is. Years ago, it was always a case of being a little bit thinner than beautiful days (entirely justified by the capacity / ticket price), but there really is nothing in it these days.

  16. It’s weird to bring that kind of acknowledgment into a throwaway list of old music videos. It’s not prestigious, they’re not promoting QOTSA, and he he hasn’t been charged with anything and it’s part of a shitty divorce battle where Brody has been accused of shit too. Wait til they read about the Puddle of Mudd singer. Would they remove him? Or does it not fucking matter? Who knows? Who cares? Let’s just crank some Bizkit.

  17. It's really frustrating, isn't it? That looked like such a great party day. I suppose it still is, but Grace Jones was a major part of the attraction for me. What I don't want to see is Grace added to the line-up on a different day as I'm not really interested in any of the others so far. 🤞

  18. Organizers don't care if AM plays with their feet instead of hands as long as they sell enough tickets 😄

  23. I had similar thoughts about Gwen Stefani on that day. I loved No Doubt as a kid and apparently she does a few of their songs in her setlist so with No Doubt having not toured the UK in 20 years I'd figured it'd probably be the closest I can get to seeing them but she's just disappeared from the line-up.

  28. By dredging up this old thread @blutarsky has made me realise my question was so bad it somehow killed a thread that had been going for 89 pages 🙈 The irony of me thinking someone would get it straight away 😂 If anyone is curious the answer was the Pussy Parlure

  33. Eagles would be such an epic Glastonbury headliner. I think they’d turn a lot of doubters. Shame to see them ruled out but if it was gonna happen it would’ve happened by now anyway.

  35. I assume most bands playing £10 gigs in your local venues would have other jobs, much like a lot of non-league footballers. Not sure the bands lose out on gigs, they get a set fee I'd have thought? Probably the promotors who are taking a hit if ticket sales don't cover band and venue costs. Agree about music being subjective. I'll have more fun at tonight's Silverbacks gig than I ever could have watching Adele for 9 times the price.

New Yorkers giving plenty of the NY-vibes but mixed by Dan Carey (like bloody everything is now) and released via Partisan (Fontaines, Pottery, Just Mustard, Chubby & The Gang, and those 'punks' from Bristol). & PIAS (The indie-label conglomerate that probably owns your favourite label)

  39. Here are this week’s questions (there were only 4, numbered 1, 2, 4, 5). I’ve renumbered them for ease of answering. 6. How many people took part in the world's biggest human peace sign at Glastonbury's famous stone circle? 7. How many acres of land does the festival cover? 8. How many babys have been born at Worthy Farm? 9. Which headliner sparked a fine from Mendip District Council for playing too long in 2009? Bruce Springsteen - @oneeye

  44. I feel like a lot of the time club operators are given the keys to old buildings / land by mega corporations / land owners specifically to kind of make an area look cool before they inevitably have to make way for the original purpose for which the land was acquired. Canal Mills in leeds is also a good example, its now being demolished and flats / houses built on it. the clubs are rarely meant to be there for the long haul just as a stop gap until finance and design are in place and to “kick off” the regeneration project, so to speak. Its all gentrification in the end.

  45. AEG and Live Nation have actually agreed a working relationship for BST which is why you can now buy tickets via Ticketmaster (which you couldn't prior to 2019) and this gives them access to some LN artists is my understanding
