It would be the weakest set of headliners I've ever witnessed... I understand that Pop and Hip Hop heads might be big-BIG, but uh, the rock names would be underwhelming. Plus, and I speak as a non-UK attendant, neither BMTH or Liam Gallagher have any appetibility as headliner - not even in a co-head scenario. For what I can recall, they never headed any non-british major fest, also.2 points

I know they struggle to fill the etihad but will announcing Liam help ? Halftime match day entertainment? 😂2 points

I don't think so 😕 Their EU Tour starts the 4th of June, I don't think they'll spent enough time in Europe to be there. But I disagree with @EV123, they are a Stadium size band, look where they perform in their EU Tour... If you think that more people would be interested in Nick Cave than the Guns.., you are wrong.2 points

Down to the top five, so I'm going to have to look at the graphical breakdown soon, aren't I? Sigh. Request: please keep this going until at least the first week of November when I have a week off. Thanks in advance.2 points

Nah. You can say a lot of things about the Arctic Monkeys but saying they’ve just churned out music in the same style for their entire career isn’t one.2 points

Prices aside, the worst ticketing dick move for me is the ‘extra date added due to demand’ trick when: a) it’s obvious the extra date was already locked in before the original date went on sale, and; b) the extra date is a weekend when the original is a weekday. I’m pretty certain this is just to crank up demand/ensure a sellout on what would be the least favourable date. Billie Eilish’s agents just pulled this, adding a Friday date in Auckland after the original Thursday. However... the ultimate dick move was Tool 2020. Adding an extra Saturday night gig after the Friday night original, announced and on sale FORTY FUCKIN MINUTES after the first date sold out.2 points

What a fantastic day. Crowd were absolutely amazing throughout. Finished in 4.38 which I’ll take for a first marathon, despite being 20 mins slower than I was aiming for. Was going really well until mile 17 then back started spasming uncontrollably so was in a bit of bother until mile 22, then managed to kick on. Main thing was finishing though. A friend and I managed to raise over 5k for Cancer Research, so happy with that too.2 points

Managed 3:10. Early miles too fast, blew up at mile 20, last few miles were a world of pain. Rookie mistake. Crowds were great.2 points

Yeah, I would like to see Nick Cave but I don't think he's going to be booked because he doesn't seem to fit to the newer "Sziget style", so I replaced that spot with My Chemical Romance. If MCR won't be available, I think they will search for another pop punk band like Panic!, Blink-182, Paramore, Green Day etc. if possible. I also have some doubts if Tame Impala fits the Sziget style, but I hope they'll be there. If they're coming to Sziget I expect on that day to have a strong sub, maybe a British act like Foals, Liam or Biffy Clyro. Kings of Leon were announced before and they still have the chance to show up. I know that Stromae had a full house concert in A38 in 2014, so maybe he will be on the Main Stage this time if he comes to Sziget. I don't know if he's that popular, so if he will be there I expect another strong sub as on the Tame Impala day. Lady Gaga would be the better female pop act choice, but Dua Lipa is very popular nowadays and maybe less expensive. Maybe Billie Eilish also have a chance to show up. And yeah, it would be nice to have Eminem. This time for real. 😄1 point

This is almost identical to mine, although I fear that having Lady Gaga and Eminem on the same bill would destroy the budget! Tame Impala Nick Cave Lady Gaga Kings of Leon Kygo Eminem1 point

You put Liam twice, start again ! and take a risk, give us names for pop and rap headliners 😜 (I would love to have Garrix again, he did great in 2019..But I don't think he'll already be back)1 point

And of course we all know that any break wether it's in season or end of season, the clubs would try and do some tour of somewhere for dough.1 point

well done to your daughter. Yes, DOMS kicking in nicely. I signed up for Manchester marathon next spring a few weeks ago, but now thinking maybe not. Marathons are hard, too hard for poor old steviewevie, half marathons much more civilised.1 point

@vintagelaureate Yep, got my email on Friday, got bit excited as making the festival seem that wee bit closer. Have booked my leave for next year too 😀1 point

I saw him hanging out with other band members at Green Man. Personally they were one of my favourite bands this summer. Their Green Man set was the most fun I had at a festival. During their EOTR set he announced that it was their last gig for a while which was strange as they still had some scheduled in and then only confirmed they had cancelled them last week. My other half spoke to one of the band after the show and he said he was going to be working with other people soon.1 point

It was mean of me, and for that I regret saying it, however I still do believe she'll fade away when the next pop princess is in town. Ellie Goulding was doing pretty well, but haven't since heard from her. Lily Allen was also on quite a high, same story.1 point

Dua Lipa? Nobody's going to care about her in 5 years time. Other than that, it would be a disastrous booking to have her as a headliner for Rock Werchter. Boutique no problem, but not Rock Werchter.1 point

One weekend or both? In the latter case. 440€ for tickets, between 100€ and 300€ for flights (if you are from Europe, and depending on flight times). Accomodation really has no limit upwards. We've always taken Airbnbs and have scored a relatively cheap one for just 280€ per person for 12 nights but I'd plan with at least 400€, especially if you are a smaller group. Food depends. If you have an appartment where you can cook, you can keep it cheap, eating at the festival is not cheap but also not too expensive. But if you wanna go for an all-in holiday there is so many amazing restaurants you could spend a fortune on food alone. Personally, I put around 1200€ aside for this. For one week, I had years where I managed with 450, but as everything got more expensive, I'd say you are looking at 650 upwards, since flights and certain side costs don't scale down with the time spent.1 point

You know how you've been frequently banging on about the number of tickets Billie Eilish sold to her British tour next year? And you're right, it is impressive. On her last tour here, P!nk sold nearly twice as many tickets overall (~350k). At a higher price. That's on fewer shows, in literally some of the largest stadia in the country, all of which sold out effectively instantly meaning (like with BE) the true demand of the market wasn't even met. Yes, I realise she hasn't been "flavour of the month" for about 20 years and so will be written off by people who care about TikTok and bullshit like that, but she's easily big enough and I'd be infinitely more confident in her ability to actually draw and hold a crowd in the top slot than BE.1 point

Yep I know why they do it but I don't like that artists I love employ the same tricks as fraudsters. It's worse when you have friends who are interested as well because do you risk them selling out to ask if £40 was more than they wanted to pay or if they are okay with it or just buy them and hope they don't say I would never have paid that much. From the point it's put on the ticketing website you should be able to see what the cost will be when they go on sale. I remember re-scheduling a work meeting once to be ready for a ticket sale for a friend and I and as soon as I saw the price it was a no from me but a lot of wasted effort to get to that point.1 point

That’s done on purpose to make you spend more than you would do rationality. When you have a count down clock you fee like if you don’t commit then the pain of losing out will be bigger than the pain of paying. It’s the same trick that fraudsters use.1 point
