  1. I expect it’s enough for Matt to have you subbing Taylor

  2. Reckon it will be £290. I will have 3 to pay for so any increase will add up, but at the same time I don’t think I have ever looked forward to paying for something as much as this. As @squirrelarmy rightly says, the value is still incredible. After securing my first ever tickets nearly 2 years ago, there have been times when I really wondered if I would ever get there, but getting that email today has really got me feeling like the countdown has properly started.

  4. Glastonbury need to embrace this research and use it to educate why we don't pee on the land, instead of just telling people not to pee on the land or threatening to ban them. Men spend a lifetime conveniently peeing in inconvenient situations. Simply telling them not to do so will not be as effective as telling them why. Don't pee on the land. Doing so harms or kills endangered wildlife, which in turn will kill the festival itself. <insert picture of cute eel>

  7. Well someone has to start this thread. Really hope the festival is back next year for the 40th anniversary.

  8. It’s not a bad position tbf. I long for the day we don’t have a Tory government and Labour is the only way to achieve that.

  10. You don't need to, and there's no benefit in doing so - just change the address on the underlying registration. Even that may not be necessary (but is good housekeeping) - the tickets are sent to the address used when paying the balance in March.

  11. Alestorm playing Brixton is a sign that we all deserved to be wiped out by COVID-19.

  12. To me it looks like Ozanne just wants labour to beat the tories more than anything and knows to do that need to get behind the leader...so muchos respectos to ozanne for that.

  16. As a young teenager I read all about this mysterious gathering in 70 and71 in the melody maker, and bought the Glastonbury Fayre triple album. It looked incredible. Then along came further education, marriage, mortgages, kids, kids at uni etc etc. Though did manage the festival in 85. Back in 2010 and then from 2014 onwards. Been lucky with tickets ever since So heres some advice from an oldie , if you’ve kids, bring them, if you can afford the ticket, apply. I regret all those missed years, though really couldn’t afford it and working full time in education didn’t help with time off. Don’t have second thoughts about going, you will regret it in the future.

  19. I think there’s another European show she’s playing that’s even closer to Glasto (can’t remember off the top of my head). She looks pretty sure bet to come back.

  20. Also Sons Of Kemet, Jehnny Beth and Moses Sumney. Good. Jessie Ware on the main is a bit weird though.

  23. Only one person has said it wouldn't be a big crowd. I think the rest of us (well, me at least) are saying her going down very well at a different festival (based on a short Tik Tok video) doesn't necessarily mean she will at Glastonbury. Her set last time didn't seem to go down well, maybe that will put people off who went out of curiosity last time. I'm sure she'll get a big crowd, at least to start with, headliners always do. The question is will it be any good?

  26. Firefly doesn't sell out months before the lineup is the key difference, Glastonbury could announce 3 young acts but nobody who wants to see them would be able to get a ticket. People were probably travelling cross country to see Billie at Firefly

  30. There was an interesting topic of discussion in the Glasto section (before IOW was announced) that maybe the stadium acts are gonna have to play the middling festivals every now and them due to there being only so big many festivals for them to play and it's not uncommon for the likes of Foo Fighters or Metallica to play 50k festivals in other countries. In any case the idea that Muse won't be offered headline slots anymore like they are now Ash or Primal Scream who have headlined Glasto back in the day is silly.

  31. I think the funniest thing would be for Emily to like the most random stuff and everyone take is as gospel. Because she knows people will try to find any shred of evidence they can on which artist is going to be on the line up. She should like a post from the Chili Peppers to send everyone screaming.

  33. Emily uses her personal social media accounts to follow the people she wants to see updates from and/or finds personally interesting, and not as some secret way of giving clues about who will or won't be booked at the next festival? Just a theory.

  36. Wife was saying something about how they are refunding full amount up till December but not releasing the new cost till new year sometime... Which means that if as a family you can't afford to pay for the new cost and then cancel you will only get half deposit back which mean people will lose money.. You work it out Not issue for us Nutters but in these time people might choose / not be able to go.. Think full cost should be made public BEFORE cut off date Thoughts

  37. That’s correct, not uncommon now for gigs to cost 80 quid and more when all the booking fees etc are added on. 300 for all the bands, the choice, the experience, the different areas, the memories etc. Incredible value, bring it on!

  38. They’d be an excellent JP headliner but early evening Other stage as dental suggests probably makes more sense. I really like that new song. Other than A Hymn, Ultra Mono was a massive step down from the previous two albums but this is definitely a step in the right direction. I think they were definitely heading towards the point of needing to change their sound a bit to stop things going stale and this certainly does that.

  40. RLB was just a bit shit. Thought Nandy was the one to unite the party, stay on a decently left course, make the case for a better brexit and win back the red wall. Wasn’t to be. But tbh she may well have betrayed her voters too. Its difficult to trust anyone who isn’t red or dead after Starmer’s Judas act. So long as PR is in the gift of the PLP you’re probably right. Its stacked full of slippery careerist fuckers. Its comical that Chuka Umunna and Luciana Berger left Labour when at risk of being deselected, joined the change independent w*nks and then when that wasn’t working joined the lib dems, and then after all that have ended up doing PR, washing the dirty corporate laundry for JP Morgan and Edelman. Pair of jokers. These are the moulds of the people Starmer wants to stuff his PLP with, his government with. The slimiest careerists going. Professional w*nkers. On another note - saw the Bakers union disaffiliated from Labour after 120 years being a founding union. Party of workers my arse. Party of little geeks and wannabe Goldman Sachs advisors.

  41. Good innit? I have a gig quandry with them, got a ticket to see The Skints but Lathums have announced for the same night in another venue. I love The Skints but I have seen them a few times (including BDs a month ago) and I've never seen The Lathums, and their gigs do look proper good fun. Think I might be sticking it on Twickets and going for some guitars instead!

  46. Kudos to Rayner for not backing down on the 'scum' thing. The tories are successfully managing the narrative wherein it is a bigger crime to accuse BJ of being scum than the catalogue of offensive shit he has said over the years. Just like it seems worse to call someone a liar in the HoC than to actually lie in the HoC. The longer they call on her to apologise, the longer people are reminded that BJ is actually deserving of the insult, and I think for a growing proportion of society, that's a good thing.
