Just had our first wander about the site ,and first beer it’s utterly magical being back on the farm. And seeing all the kids enjoying themselves. Got a pyramid view from the tent and had my first experience of the compost lavs as they are always too busy during the festival

Lots of horrific clashes, but to a degree that’s a consequence of managing to pull together a decent line-up. As far as day splits go, there’s limited scope to ask bands to play specific days, given that EotR is often just one date amongst many that need to be managed as a whole tour. Not to mention real life factors too. This year more than any, the organisers deserve loads of credit and leeway for putting something, anything, on. And we all deserve a cracking festival. Put the minor EotR changes or inconveniences to one side, we’ve had more than enough really significant stuff to deal with over the past 18 months.

Not thrilled with those splits got to be honest Fair enough it's the weakest line up for years cos of covid but sticking all the hottest acts on the sunday, when lots of people are taking it steady for the drive home at that, Well, ain't ideal is it.

I always forget EOTR show the latest films first on the listing and thought they were showing "Midsommar" to a tent full of toddlers on Sunday morning for a moment.

I just saw Maneskin last weekend at Rock for People festival in the Czech Republic. They got huge really fast and definitely the a band for gen z, so they could easily replace MGK. Half of the setlist were covers, their hit song was played 3 times (normal, Iggy Pop version and as encore)... the kids loved it (actually not sure, if they know the original songs except Harry Styles or billie eilish covers)... nothing special about the band. Good thing is, that many kids came to the festival to see them and left with better bands to listen.

Closer inspection, the S of maneskin looks quite off and the KIN looks slightly smaller to me? definitely fake

The rumours of Machine Gun Kelly and Post Malone dropping out is nothing more than unverified social media gossip at the mo so I wouldn’t worry about either until it’s 100% confirmed. I wouldn’t be surprised if one or both will be on stage next weekend.

I don't remember BBCC going big on it wow. In my opinion its unfair to say they are booked because of tiktok though - they are big upcoming acts that have blown up - it doesn't really matter where they blow up. not saying you are saying this but tiktok gets treated with such a stigma but its acted as a platform for so much alternative music to grow from, stuff that just wouldnt come through normally as its so un-chart. Maneskin is a massive booking right now, just a few weeks back they had 3 songs in the top 20.

That’s worked out much better than I feared……some of the artists I’d like to see are in the Tipi, and I hate the bloody tipi but the rest of it looks ace, and I won’t be be anywhere near the bands I have no interest in. gonna be belting

i’m a massive lorde fan but reading the worst reviews has you believe this is a one note, one instrument (acoustic guitar) album and it isn’t! it’s a great record imo. also the overhating of jack antanoff feels a bit sexist to me? implying basically that all these women had no input whatsoever and are just handmaidens!!

Ill be checking out some of this. Folky Bert Jansch, John Fahey type guitar stuff.

I personally (along with all my family and the friends im going with) are double vaccinated and I will likely do a lateral flow before and after the festival so my risk is very low. However if I was to get it, thats the risk im willing to take to be back in at live music- I would not regret a thing.

…the difference of course being that Lorde already backed up Pure Heroine with Melodrama, to give herself some leeway for an iffy third outing. if Billie’s third album drops off as undeniably as this, she’s done.

main stages won't clash. liam gallagher will be on after biffy, not sure how long after but i assume a good 10?15 minutes at least as they'll want to wait for everyone to move from stage to stage and buy drinks and what not

I'm delighted to say I escaped from the Republic of Ireland last weekend and scooted over the border to County Derry and the marvellous 4,000 capacity Stendhal Festival in Limavady. I had an amazing time, the festival caters really well for families and has a nice dose of good rock music too. With 5 or six stages to choose from and an ambient forest, worth checking out. At £105 for a camping ticket from Thurs to Sat its good value.
