  5. You say that, but it's a long time to go without stepping foot in either of those areas. I was sceptical at Latitude but after about two minutes it was as though Covid never happened. Personally the entry requirements are good enough for me not to worry too much about it once inside the festival, but of course each to their own as you said go with what you're comfortable with.

  8. Judging from the 80 odd live sets I've seen since 19th July, I very much doubt more than 5-10 % of people will stick to masks in the Big Top / Tipi (even with an EotR crowd). They'll both be better for ventilation though than most indoor venues. It's not ideal if the bands you want to see are tented, but at least there are enough outdoor stages with great music if tents feel too much of a risk. They are very safe. The biggest covid risk then is likely toilet cubicles, but waving the door a few times will recycle the air (and have other benefits!). It'll all feel fine once we're inside. I hope everybody finds their personal balance between risk and enjoyment 😊.

  10. Arcade Fire at Reading 2010 will always be my favourite gig of all time. Couldn’t have been more obsessed with a band at that point and those first three albums were pretty much perfect. Spent the whole Saturday on the barrier waiting for their set. The way they merged Rebellion (Lies) into Neighbourhood #3 was spine tingling! Sorry for digressing!

  12. Promising announcement for the NZ Government this morning. As long as the vaccine holds and the situation in the UK doesn’t deteriorate, travel should be possible without quarantine by June next year. Perhaps we actually will get there! Still a number of variables at play though, I can’t imagine it’s going to feel likely until around March next year.

  14. Ok guess I'll count them. Just to say, some entries were discounted because of the rules but I don't think they'd have changed anything. 3rd place: Snapped Ankles - Forest of Your Problems It's a great time to be alive for the psych goons in ghillie suits, completing the top three. Tied 1st: Dave - We're All Alone In This Together Voice of a generation and national hero Santan Dave triumphs with the follow-up to his unfollowupable debut, and takes a shared top spot. Tied 1st: Inhaler - It Won't Always Be Like This Bono's son and friends also release album. Some of you liked it and it is joint 1st. --- Albums of the month of the year so far, and contenders for the end of year thing: Inhaler - It Won't Always Be Like This Dave - We're All Alone In This Together Snapped Ankles - Forest of Your Problems Wolf Alice - Blue Weekend Sault - 9 Lucy Dacus - Home Video Iceage - Seek Shelter Squid - Bright Green Field St. Vincent - Daddy's Home Royal Blood - Typhoons Dry Cleaning - New Long Leg The Coral - Coral Island Arab Strap - As Days Get Dark Bicep - Isles Black Country, New Road - For the First Time Nick Cave and Warren Ellis - Carnage Lana Del Rey - Chemtrails Over the Country Club For Those I Love - For Those I Love Mogwai - As the Love Continues Arlo Parks - Collapsed in Sunbeams Shame - Drunk Tank Pink

  16. Can't think of a time i've purchased through them and things have gone smoothly. Tried to load up my tickets today and the request wouldn't go through due to busy servers, can't imagine what it's going to be like on the day when everyone is trying to load them. Hopefully saving them to the wallet on my phone will prevent any issue with accessing them whilst in the queue

  20. Still waIting for my tickets. Sherlock’s way to small to headline. If that’s the only replacement they can get, then surely they will slot them in the lineup further down and bump someone else up to headline. Would be a nice addition but headline! The James Heritage Live even has them in small writing with FEEDER, MAXIMO PARK & THE SNUTS above.

  21. ViP does not look worth it to me, depends what you want though. You have free basic camping, which is your normal festival camping. Never done that at sziget. Then you can pay for different types of camping upgrades, which have a different feel to them. You have VIP camping which has a pool, did that the 1st year I went but never again. It's right next to the all night dance tests, which ok for the 1st night but after 7 or 8 days with no sleep. You then have a selection of upgraded campsite, I use the upgrade xamosites as it saves me taking a tent and it's erected when you get there. Always think about hotels, just be careful on distanc from the festival.

  22. Yeah, I’ll definitely be wearing one in the tents too. Good stuff from Simon etc, clear guidance and making it as easy as possible for everyone. Can’t wait to get back there, 3 weeks today! Feels like it’s been forever.

  23. Maybe they will reduce numbers inside instead then. I for one will be avoiding them anyway. It's a shame, but there will be plenty on elsewhere and you have to go with your comfort level at the moment. Besides which, those places are stuffy enough in normal times, let alone with a mask on.

  24. Yep - you can pick up free LFT test packs at most pharmacies. As soon as you've done it report the result here (assuming it's negative!) and you'll get a text and an email with confirmation after a few minutes.

  26. Prob in minority but I have no problem wearing a mask if I go in the tipi which is a small enclosed space after all. After a while I forget I’m even wearing it.

  36. I'd recommend the fish and chip stall, although things got a bit ragged with them later at night so have it early evening. The guys at the pasta place are really friendly and happy to hold stuff back for late arrivals, adjust recipes. If you want to do any of the games in the charities field, do it before the site gets busy on the weekend.

We will accept all foreign certification in line with the airlines and UK customs." https://www.slamdunkfestival.com/info If you're still unsure it's probably best off emailing them. Can they even log a LFT without being registered with the NHS?
