  1. One thing I’d like to see the government being a bit more honest about is, what does post June 21st look like? They seem to have some ideas if they are employing covid marshals and Wimbledon is only selling tickets at 25% capacity. Yet again, they need to treat us like adults but don’t. Everyone is making plans and spending hard earned money to organise things for the summer (which is what they want even if things don’t open fully) but it’s surely time to just give a view of their plans. It’s not fair in individuals or consumers

  3. I'm not speaking for Ken19 at the slightest, but my guess is I don't think Ken19 will be the one (allowed) to give you these answers as I doubt he's a Belgian government official or the head of Live Nation. Your answers will be coming, however patience is needed. And rules enforced by the French government do not mean that they automatically apply to a neighbouring country. The one thing I've come to learn from this pandemic is that while a government might take some ideas from other countries in the EU, but they're still just going to do their own thing on the basis of their knowledge. My advice, which I welcome you to throw in the trash can if you prefer: try to stay optimistic until things are actually cancelled. There's really no way to be certain how things will pan out.

  8. It's funny how the accusations of bullying only apply one way in this thread 🤔 I notice stuff like this isn't called out by the usual suspects who all would leap to condemn it if roles were reversed.

  12. The government earns a lot of taxes with all our festivals (gigantic numbers). So they care, but are very careful. That is why the flemish government is a great partner in this. If the numbers are positive evolving like today, a lot is possible. I’m staying positive.

  17. But he’ll still want to promote and tour the album and presumably be playing festivals next year too, so I don’t see why that would count him out of Glastonbury. Don’t think I ever heard anything about Glastonbury needing to be right at the start of the album promotion or anything.

  23. Silly question but lets think of nice things to try to ease the pain, how was your wife visit yesterday ? Could she stay for long or is it one of those wards that says 'an hour and p1ss off' ..... ask for more painkillers , noone should have to suffer pain when there is relief available (unless the side effects of long term pain relief are unjustifiable of course)

  26. Here in Portugal the state of emergency ends this Friday. Thursday and Friday here in my city there will be the first two test concerts with 400 people. If all goes well, it is possible to have the Paredes de Coura Festival. There is a huge possibility that Paredes de Coura exists, the Festival owner is the most optimistic owner, he at the beginning of March said this in an interview: “YET YESTERDAY I CLOSED THREE INTERNATIONAL BANDS FOR THIS YEAR'S FESTIVAL. I AM COMPLETELY CONFIDENT " I saw him in another interview saying that he has several plans to set up several stages in the village of Paredes de Coura. He is very active on Personal Instagram (@ joaocarvalho1), likes to share a lot of good music and likes to share the venue and share moments because Paredes de Coura "exudes" good music compared to other festivals in Portugal that think a lot about money.

  32. "Many more deaths". The over 40s will be done, the numbers in total who've died under 40, while sad, is low. Plus many of those will have been in the vulnerable group. What am I missing here? There's a lot of this "much more death" but as that didn't happen previously in the unvaccinated age group why would it happen now? Especially as any "delay" likely still keeps it all being done in summer when last year prevalence was low anyway

  33. The Belgian government doesn't care at all about the cultural sector. It was already the case before this crisis but now more than ever. They said last Friday was an important reunion for the cultural/musical sector. They gave some tips for what could be doable in June. But nothing about festivals or big events. Officially, they haven't said yet that major festivals like Pukkelpop or Rock Werchter even in August could happen. From this Friday, some cultural events will happen in Belgium (Still Stand For Culture) with small events like a few concerts, a few expos, some cinemas open as well. All with a limited capacity and hygienes rules of course. If we wait something from the government, we'll still be at the same point in 2022...

  34. I think any medium festival that has remaining tickets will sell out once their lineup is announced this year (as people are desperate for some sort of release this summer - I know I am) - fingers crossed they actually happen

  38. I think we’ll get more of that after the elections on May 6th and also after step 3 with indoor mixing being allowed. It’s too soon to say as I feel step 3 is the big one, if we can get through that with minimal impact then it should be ok. The other suggestion is of course to treat us like adults and say this is what will happen if... But they don’t tend to like that approach.

Sorry if I've said that before but please look it up there's some awesome artist on there much much better than me.. But it would be great to see it all work out for the gentleman who is running it.. He's a little pic of our last weekend.. The flag pole that I've had for over 15 years has broke and gone away.. Lol.. Abit of levellers.. Last but not least baby Eliza giving a wave..

  42. Just to add a counterpoint to this, they are absolutely not pointless. Using masks, especially indoors demonstrably reduces transmission. And not everyone who chooses to wear a mask outdoors does so for political reasons. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-02801-8

NO longdrop toilets, compost loos only

  46. I’ve no real axe to grind with Coldplay and I’ve enjoyed their headline sets in the past. But it would be so uninspiring to have them back yet again in 22 when there are so many other worthy acts who could do it. If that makes me a twat then so be it.

  47. I'm sure someone can do a decent overlay but in the meantime here's a bodge job as I was also interested. My usual camping spot is well outside the red area yet I can guarantee that's where I'd end up waking up... confused, tentless and looking for a longdrop.
