  2. Hi all. Wanted to make a video that gives you a glimmer of what it feels like to be at Glastonbury. Would love for you to watch. Cheers

  3. Went out for a run earlier and while I was out I was thinking about my "I hate City most" comment, and now I'm not sure. A run down of the clubs in order of c**tishness (in reverse order): Spurs - Classic case of little boy hoping that if he hangs around with his older brother and his mates then he'll look cooler by association. Will get ditched at the first opportunity. c**ts. Arsenal - Have been irrelevant on the pitch for years now and the revenues are starting to reflect that. Desperately hoping this goes through before anyone notices that they are only there because they used to be good and have a shiny stadium. c**ts. United - Well at least they are consistent. They've been more interested in maximising revenues and secufring lucrative noodle partners than actual sporting success for years now. c**ts Chelsea - Scumbag club, the bigger shock would have been if they weren't involved. 'Orrible c**ts City - Sell out c**ts. Liverpool - Actually, I hate these c**ts the most. Fucking hypocrites! For all the self-mythologising, romanticising, congratulatory "we are the people's club, Spirit of Shankley, YNWA" bollocks everyone at the club spews and the media endlessly propagates they would sell their grannies if it meant a few extra quid (buying the land around Anfield from out under people, Project Big Picture, supporting a racist, the lovable rogues nicking tickets out of other fans' hands at CL finals...). They claim to be different, be special, but are just as bad, if not worse than the rest of the c**ts and this is just further proof.

  4. To be fair no one saw you in the footie chat until your club got promoted.

  5. Ah I’m really upset about this! I didn’t know he was ill. Like many, I was a Twitter friend and had exchanged DMs and the sort happily over the years. One Christmas I sent him a little pic which I’ll post here as my tribute - RIP Rick and hope the coffee and cake is good up there!

  8. First jab on Friday. Saw parents for first time in 6 months yesterday, and managed to meet up with a couple of friends for a coffee while I was in the area. That'll do.

  9. Nah. The UK fests board alone has people going wild about The Libertines etc headlining regional festivals. Plenty of people were excited about the Blossoms announcement yesterday and I only saw one mildly shitty post. This is one of the least snobby and most varied-taste music forums on the internet, for better or worse.

  16. Yeah I really don’t see that being the case. Like, I know there’s been a colliding of worlds now between the two acts, but somehow I don’t see Swift fans being down for an hour of mopey indie rock before seeing her.

  17. It happens every time, Labour get blamed for the Tories actions and people accept it. It's quite impressive how the Tories have managed to do that.

  24. Perhaps the loveable rogues in Liverpool’s fan base can stone their own coach in protest

  25. Asking such a binary question on such a complex issue is a bit silly and pointless. It was clearly a whole host of factors behind the rapid spread, with many crossovers. Of course the government had a part to play in it, but so did many others outside the two options given here.

  26. My reply was very tongue in cheek. I hear you. I walked off from the Radiohead set and I do like them. I understand the fandom of Radiohead though. And as for list, who doesn't like a good list

  27. Yes you're right, I'm just a bit gutted. (That seems like a very calm reply for efestivals at the moment. Maybe I should say something nasty to you as well?)

  28. So if they're waiting to see the results of that test event then I'm guessing we'll get the lineup in mid-late May?

  32. Very convenient, you come accross as plastic as any glory hunter.

  33. I have to be honest, I have absolutely zero respect for the opinions of any fan of a "big" club who isn't from the area. I don't want to hear about how your grandad supported them, or you grew up loving the kit or a certain player, or how much passion you have for the club. It's all false. I know that's a snobbish attitude but fuck it, I don't care, the views of plastic fans mean nothing to me. I love watching American Football, love the sport, watch it every Sunday night when the season is on. But I don't "support" a team, there are some I prefer over others but I can't just pick one and throw all my weight behind them because it would feel false and insincere. I can't generate an emotional attachment to a team thousands of miles away that I've never visited. It just feels insincere. It's how I feel about plastics.

  34. I know what plastic is made from. The term plastic fans was coined for glory hunters. United and Liverpool fans who could not point Manchester or Liverpool out on a map are the original plastic fans. The term had nothing to do with oil.

  35. Sounds interesting. I'll add it to my ever growing wishlist! I've read a fair few books since I last updated so will endeavour to do a short precis soon. For anyone interested in some modern classics this list might be a good one to find some new reading material as well. https://www.theguardian.com/books/2019/sep/21/best-books-of-the-21st-century

  37. I feel as an Everton fan that there is no good outcome now - they stay in the league and dominate it, and they know they can ask for anything then as they can just threaten to quit. Tightening of FFP and selling their own TV rights will be a minimum requirement in a year or two. But if they get kicked out they take all the money with them and the standard drops. Essentially we need them and they know it, but then the rest of us continue our role as cannon fodder but even more extreme. Not to mention what that does to the rest of this season, if they get kicked out the champions league and europa league it becomes such a sham they may as well just pull the plug and work out what they're going to do. Guess TV deals mean we need to see it through however pointless

  43. A great start to the day out there this morning, Bruce got amongst it on the beach, digging, swimming and generally going nuts: breakfast well earned. The bay remains a car park for cruise ships. Enjoy your day pop pickers, BST tomorrow, bring it on 😎🍻
