  1. This could be pretty dicey for him. He is in several high risk groups - elderly, obese, low income.

  4. I’m sure his physicians know what they’re doing! in fairness, the Regeneron antibodies look pretty good, though still in trials and not approved. Convalescent plasma has EUA, but also no RCT data to prove it works. The Regeneron drug is basically an engineered version of this. On top of that they’ve lumped in everything else that might have an effect, but won’t massively impact on the efficacy of the antibodies...so no steroids (which have been shown to work) as they would hamper the antibodies. The aspirin will have a bit of anti-inflammatory activity, but benefits for clotting outweigh

  5. A mock festival set was also created the Wells side of the Mendips. It had main stage, traders, loos, camping fields and loads of litter. A friend of mine who works on film sets was also living onsite in a caravan as kind of night time security as well as his normal job with the crew. He said that it was one of the oddest places to stay at night when everyon else had left. A shout out went out locally for youngsters to be extras there. They had to dance in front of the main stage....with no music playing. The goat wedding scene was filmed in the woods on the Ashton Court Estate. I pr

  7. Perosnally I think it's good news in a way. If so many people have it and don't know, how many must have had it at the height and not know? If far more people have had it that were capturing via testing then it's not as deadly as feared and that is surely a good thing? That's not to take away the severity of the illness at all, but surely it shows its something that we can learn to live with far more easily than if it the numbers and ratios we are seeing were closer to reality than they possibly are? Its a shame it's impossible to have a Covid census day where we all do an antibody

  11. Really enjoying the Bonobo and TEED collaboration, bit of a throwback but it's a load of fun amongst COVID misery. I can't wait for the first big night out, when this is under control.

  12. They’re probably right to play it safe. Still early days in his infection and based on his age, gender and weight alone, he’d be higher risk for severe disease now he’s developed symptoms. No idea what the rest of his medical history is like, but the 3 factors above increase his risk quite a bit.

  15. Soz for the length: Could Congress delay the election? Yes but it’s not easy. To move the date of the presidential election because of an emergency would require a change in federal law, which must be passed by both houses of Congress. That means the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives and the Republican-controlled Senate would need to agree on a law, pass it before Nov. 3, and president Trump would need to sign it. It could then be challenged in the courts, like any federal law. Even if that happened, Congress is limited by the constitution in the changes it can make t

  16. Yeah, with Frusciante I would take them as well. Also, their 2016 show at Open'er interfered with Poland - Portugal at the EURO 2016 which made it hard to fully focus on the show.

  26. QAnon believers are apparently happy that Trump says he has COVID, because COVID is fake, so Trump is actually pulling a power move on the deep state, who think COVID is real because they created it as a power move on Trump. That means Hillary is getting arrested.

  27. Interval on some of the severe reinfections quite short, new infection or relapse? Most of these seem to be confirmed by genetic sequencing as different strains, but with a sample size this small, pretty hard to draw any firm conclusions. Simultaneous infection with 2 strains and one outlasted the other? Can only see the clinical details for 3 of the serious reinfections. 2 had COPD, the other was healthy (and pretty young). So, possibly clinical reasons why symptoms were worse second time around, but really, with so few cases, you could find all sorts of patterns and draw the wrong conclusion

  28. Yeah I think you're right. As I say, if it wasn't for the Covid stuff making me worried about seeing her again this year I know I would probably cancel to be on the safe side. So that's what I should do. Thanks.

  30. Feels like that text is a bit of doublespeak to be honest. They've changed the name to phases, and adjusted how many tickets are available in each "phase", but fundamentally I can't see how it's any different to the tier system they had before?
    1 point
  31. I think that's purposeful as they've removed the "tiers" for "phases". https://www.boomtownfair.co.uk/news/2020-09-24-reduced-price-2021-ticket-rundown/

  34. Tickets on sale again now, and after an hour, Tier 1 tickets still available, which wouldn't usually be the case. It must be so difficult for all these festival teams, especially ones like Boomtown, desperate to hang onto the ethos and philosophy that made them start the whole thing in the first place. At the moment, their biggest challenge is whether or not this current bloody situation will even allow them to hold a festival in 2021... I, for one, will feel hugely privileged if I can walk through those gates next August, and trust them to create a magical world in th

  35. hat a seven months this has been… Not being in the fields of the Matterley Estate building and creating our magical world, has hit us harder than any of us imagined. The loss of that sense of community, physical connection, working towards providing tens of thousands with memories that will last a lifetime. The impact of everything else that has resulted from this pandemic on so many, not least our industry in general, is heartbreaking in almost every way.. But, we are still managing to find positives through all this and are holding on to hope for the future. You may have seen that

  38. Had a terrific time at The Garden for Dekmantel Selectors 2018, in spite of an apocalyptic storm wiping out a day's worth of music. It's a great site, small and modest but works well for a fest. It definitely lacks the variance and sense of grandeur which made Fort Punta truly special, but that is a tasty line-up and the idea of dancing by the water's edge is too tempting to ignore. I'm very possibly in for that.
