  4. I really can’t believe the hysteria and shock at the increased rates and subsequent restrictions. I mean it was always going to happen - they should have stated very clearly that when towns/cities get above 100 cases per 100,000 then that automatically triggers the restrictions we have seen applied this week.

  6. We need this new Lorde record. She is right there in the headliner conversation when it comes out and I’d have her at the top of my list of fresh acts to headline. Recently picked up Melodrama on vinyl and it really is one of the top records of the decade. Watching back the Other set as well and she’s just a superstar.

  14. Just remember everything being spoken about today is to prevent things to getting to this level whereas France and Spain have put very little mitigations in place so we have to hope whatever measures are imposed are beneficial, as we've seen they seem to be having a better effect in the north west

  16. Late to the Lorde chat, but she has a God Level Other Stage set in the bank that will give her a tonne of credit with the powers that be when it comes to the next booking cycle.

  20. Yep got to admit it's starting to get to me now. So bad now that I'd be happy to not attend Glastonbury next year if it meant it was on and the rest of the world was at least getting back to normal. I'm at the stage of thinking that it's unlikely it will be on next year and the idea that it could be another year before I even have a chance of going is just too horrible to contemplate. Work has been absolutely shite for ages but goes through periods of being even more bat shit mental than normal which the last couple of weeks have been. So many people I know talk about meeting up with fami

  21. Obviously Cummings - and especially his lack of apology - changed a lot of people’s behaviour but they almost got people back on side with Boris’s Nando’s chart. It was a clear (well, as clear as can be from this lot) roadmap towards the way out of this but because they put dates on it, Boris decided to ignore his own rules so that he wouldn’t be unpopular with his fanboys. I wonder how things would have been if we’d stuck to the levels and limitations in each stage of that? Starmer questioned opening things up at the time and just got the ‘you’re the ditherers, the blockers, the bla

  24. My daughter has just returned from Turkey and she said it's safer than here. Everyone wearing masks in public places, hotel lobby, taxis, walking to they're sun bed , going to the buffet etc etc. Her Cape Verde holiday on Oct 5th was cancelled last week so she's going back to Turkey again haha.

  26. NYE is going to be a funny one this year. Not much going on, most people at home, and 50% of voters pretending to look joyous as the pound collapses at midnight. Party! Party! Party!

  27. No, he got bored of those when he realised they were fucking things up. Last thing he wants is to have stuff he says actually recorded on camera again. All I can think time and time again with this lot is the Simpsons episode with the chilli cook off. "Well of course, everything looks bad if you remember it".

  29. Yes there is. We live in the South West where currently infection rates and so on are low in comparison to our friends in the North. Only caveat being we're going to be kneecapped for infection rates hundreds of miles from where we live. Just been speaking to a colleague who shares the same view as me on it which was reassuring...

  34. Controversial take here but no chance. I am a massive Lorde fan but I see her more of a Robyn type than a top billing artist. I worry that her leaving 5+ years gaps between albums for an artist of her size is just not smart career wise. She has a moderate sized fanbase but outside of that I reckon a lot of people have somewhat moved on from her. If Lorde comes back she could headline other stage or maybe even JP but not the pyramid. Shes old news but I don’t think she cares about it.

  38. It might sound silly but it's something I really look forward to (a new console) and I'm super pumped for it. Gaming has been something thats helped me get through lockdown big time, and in general with mental health issues I've had over the years. It's something that can cause me to fully switch off the anxiety and worries for a period of time.

  42. Dunno about other holiday hotspots but the Lake District is still almost at summer holiday levels. It's definitely dropped off a little but there's still loads about. September's always busy. It's all the people who don't like it when it's too busy so avoid the holidays. Troubled is, there's bloody loads of them!
