  1. Sick of being told to "get back to work". I've worked every bloody weekday since mid March, give or take one or two, and I'm fucking knackered thanks very much. Just because I didn't get on a train to do it doesn't mean I haven't been working.

  3. Boris Johnson is a lazy, self obsessed liar who has consistently failed upwards until ending up as Prime Minister of this country, a role for which it is increasingly apparent he is wholly unsuited. That is my biased opinion. My unbiased opinion is that Ozanne was being much fairer.

  5. As good a time as any to bring up the quote that's in @SwedgeAntilles's signature from @Mardy about Ellie Goulding's 2016 set: "It was essentially an hour of being shouted at by a lovesick aerobics teacher."

  6. No one needs to be able to name any disclosure songs, It’s dance music 😂 majority of the crowd are teens on ket or pills. Will go down a treat for them, the Dance stage has been the second busiest stage for years now it’s a solid booking as much as it’s a missed opportunity for more favourable acts it was a cheap booking that people will leave after watching them going yeah it was alright that

  7. People go on about the gender balance at R&L every year but I don’t think enough people praise them for the racial diversity they have in their lineups year on year. That really is something worthy of more praise than it gets.

  8. You know who else is always under represented on the line-up? Australians. Address this and get them in, Melvin.

  9. I find it weird that no ones even mentioned masks. Here in Canada we've made masks mandatory in public spaces, it lowers the transmission rate down to 2% supposedly. It's not ideal, but there are bars at glasto that demand you have a mustache.

  11. It’s being said this was one of Johnson’s worst PMQs. He was made to look very foolish by the Speaker and Starmer is just much better at this than him. Starmer is gaining in confidence all the time as well.

  12. The ‘I don’t know any of their songs and neither does anyone I’m mates with’ line of argument is absolutely the worst line of argument possible. Also, ditto above; I wish BMTH were in Catfish's place.

  13. Disclosure are a big name and one of the most important dance acts of the last decade. Headlining again is a bit of a stretch but I think they would have likely been booked as a R1 tent headliner if it was a normal year. Back to BMTH, in the last two years, they’ve released MANTRA, Wonderful Life, Ludens, Parasite Eve and now Obey as singles. The same BMTH who ‘aren’t a rock band anymore’...

  15. I know adblockers are commonplace, but admitting you're using one is a bit like walking into a pub and openly swigging your own beer in front of the landlord. If you're going to be on here regularly, then have the decency to either go gold or turn whitelist the site.

  17. The new BMtH and Yungblud is exceptional, absolute banger. They’ve missed the boat not getting BMtH headlining.

  24. You being a Tory has nothing to do with anything. I could not care less who you vote for and I have given you hardly any downvotes. Your post doesn’t really doesn’t comment on any of Gaz’s points. He is right, this goes round in circles, you end up apologising after being rude, go quiet for a few days then it starts back. So you can’t comment on being downvoted when you do that exact thing. Thanks @gazzared

  34. Sziget, like Glastonbury, is less niche than Reading and Leeds is. In my post above I've said that at least R&L have been trying in recent years. Does the balance in the industry not overall even itself out over festivals as a whole anyway? Either way though, if female representation is something you genuinely feel strongly about and it's a determining factor of what makes a festival line-up good in your eyes, there are plenty of festivals where you can get your fill of female acts. Vote with your feet.

  35. I think the point was more about remembering a fun time had listening to his music, rather than commemorating the man. As much as we would condemn his alleged actions, we should be capable of separating the artist and the art. If the art is to one’s taste, why not still listen? Babies and bath water and all that. How many people still listen to MJ? Lots, because his music has merit. How many people still listen to Rolf Harris? Very few, as his music didn’t have such artistic merit.

  42. I don’t really know you, but you come across as profound, genuine and honest. I don’t know what helps and what doesn’t but i also know that sometimes i should just say (type) shit rather than think it. Efests is a wonderful place full of wonderful people and you are one of the upper echelons of these people. From a traditional lurker, your posts are brilliant and far further reaching than what you probably intend them to be. Thank you for this and i genuinely hope that you continue your happy dance in whatever form works for you. Take care

  47. I have to say, now the record has had a few weeks to simmer, it might honestly be my favourite Taylor record. It's tricky to compare it to her back catalogue since they're going for totally different sounds, but Christ it's absolutely fantastic. The only track that I'm not totally in love with is Hoax, and it's still OK. The album gets better and better on each listen and I genuinely don't think it suffers from the same bloat issue as past records. First few listens felt like This Is Me Trying to Epiphany was the weak spot, but now all those songs have grown on me with Illicit Affairs and
