  1. Yeah just decided we weren't gonna post them

  2. You have a serious hatred towards them, Kevin and crew could quite easily smash a headline set especially with 6

  3. Sorry if it’s already been posted, but The Cribs we’re dropping hints yesterday. Would be ace to have them back at R&L

  4. If you want Coldplay so much, go on the Glastonbury forums. They love having people who ask about Coldplay over there.

  5. In regards to that 1975 set I’ve just finished it as well and it’s straight in my top 3 shows what a fucking night and in regards to 21 Pilots again absolutely immense, top 5 and I don’t think I’ll ever see anyone put on such a show, Imo last years headliners will never be topped

  6. This is a more significantly realistic take than saying 'no vaccine = no festivals, simple as that'. Things can change. They quite possibly will, again. But if quick testing becomes more effective, and rising positive tests don't correlate to rising deaths/hospital overcapacity in the same way – recent data suggests this is the case – then the messaging from the gov/big business will shift. It won't be long until the official line is: "yes it's in the population and no we don't have a vaccine yet, but it's time to get back to life and roll with a fractional chance of bad illness." No Glasto signifies not just a lack of similar festivals and arena gigs, but no Euros, no Cheltenham, no FA Cup final, no Wimbledon, no Fringe, the collapse of sport and culture across the country (just about hanging on now). You can argue the morality, but 50-odd vulnerable people dying per week will not result in the cancellation of another summer's worth of business, not with this government at the wheel.

  7. I agree. There are people like me who can find plenty in the undercard but are generally let down by the headliners. Tame Impala and Slipknot are the kind of headliners who reach people that haven't been catered to in recent years as far as headliners go, and they have a decent enough crossover with the usual crowd that they could do it if there were two stages and someone more typical was on the other stage.

  12. Not sure why you'd write off June already - if the Oxford vaccine is proven safe and effective, and delivered on the current estimated timescale, then a June festival would certainly be able to go ahead with few changes. The (admittedly, significant) risk is if that vaccine falls short or there's a significant delay then that could scupper things - but it's way too early to predict that.

  13. Yeah, but an even higher chance of it going ahead. These Glasto boards on Efest reek of dramaqueening.

  14. No September move? Quick everyone, cancel that amazon order for hot water bottles!

  15. Possible I guess, but equally they might want to give people more time to cancel. Not really sure what I said to justify the shitty tone, but you do you.

  18. be funny tomorrow when it turns out melvin’s been trolling us all and the big announcement is that they’re showing some more backstage footage from Reading 2019 including an interview with Vistas and asking Dave what his favourite pizza topping is !

  19. Only really seen the same few names thrown about the past couple days (BMTH / LG / Dua Lipa / Billie Eilish / Travis Scott / Slipknot). I’d be happy with any combination of the names thrown about, but it’d be really nice to have someone really unexpected. I’m thinking similar to 2018 when everyone was discussing Foo Fighters and The 1975 as possibilities, but as far as I remember I don’t think one person mentioned Post Malone - although he’s not my cup of tea, it was really nice having a headliner announced that was completely out of the blue.

  21. What big D said And honestly, if you feel your anxiety getting worse it might be worth just chatting to a dr just to see what they say.. i get really bad anxiety and panic attacks and it is worth just having a chat with a professional if you feel its getting particularly bad. Lots of love x

  22. There’s another way it ends. When a sufficient number of people decide it doesn’t warrant a significant risk to them and they decide not to follow the rules anymore, aided and abetted by a Government that wants to get the Economy going above all else, the latters cheerleaders in the Media, and a Vaccine rushed through and made available before Phase 3 Trials have ended. We’re gradually moving towards that point.

  25. They don't have to group genres onto single days and stages any more than they already do. I think shuffling things about would be good because it gets people passing by the bars and also reduces people just staying at a stage all day. I hope they don't carve out rock/indie stage and pop/hip hop stage because that's grim. Regarding clashing headliners, you can't see everyone you want at a festival anyway so nothing new there. The European method works because they play until like 2am, rather than 11pm sharp. So the act starting their headline slot at 7pm will probably just be considered a sub my many, much like coheadliners have been since their inception.

  28. My only concern with this two main stages is the idea that the festival is in two tribes. I know to a large extent it is, its just a shame for people like me who listen to a big spectrum of radio stations and would happily watch liam Gallagher, tame impala, lewis capaldi, dua lipa etc, all potential headliners but would be highly unlikely to get to see them all due to headliner clashes. I'd love a European style thing where the two main stages don't clash at all

  30. You have no idea how much Tame Impala costs to book.

  31. They wouldn't get booked with 3 headliners, they won't get booked with 6.

  32. Prodigy without Keith aren’t any smaller. They could headline for sure, especially if we’re going to be having six headliners going forward. I think it’b be more a case of R&L not booking them these days.

  34. It’s almost as if lockdown was delayed so that festival could go ahead but that would mean our Tory overlords would be putting personal profits before public health and surely they wouldn’t do that. 🙄

  38. Well worth it mate - my best purchase of the day! Has there ever been a better example of a sweary verse than on Boys from the county hell: "At the time I was working for a landlord, and he was the meanest bastard that you have ever seen, and to lose a single penny would grieve him awful sore, and he was a miserable bollox and a bitches, bastards, whore".

  40. No worries. To be honest I don't think it's the time to consider a big change of career or a dream job. Just about finding somewhere you can work even temporarily without feeling stressed and scared every day. You're not being unreasonable at all - I was in a supermarket today only for 10 minutes and felt really uncomfortable about the lack of distancing and low mask uptake.

  41. Exactly, to be honest we always bring clothing to suit every eventuality, including spare sleeping bags in the car in case of a leaking tent. Done enough spring and autumn camping to know it can be really enjoyable. No such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing! Good festival marketing ideas, fleeces and hot water bottles.

  42. I’m in. Is this what is being asked? If it’s cold I’ll put a fleece on. If it’s cold at night I’ll take two sleeping bags. It’s it rains it’s no different to a rainy day in June. Fantastic that there is a plan b for 2021.
