  1. How about one that says "I wanted a ticket but all I got was this bloody t-shirt"

  2. Me & Mrs Q have both been working at home this week (I started last week, her company did it from Monday onwards). We're working together in one room at the dining table, headphones in if we want to get our heads down and really crack on. We've agreed that if one of us starts getting on the other's nerves, we can ask for a timeout. She's asked for 17 so far..... (exaggerated for comedic effect. It's going really well )

  4. You know that when the weather forecaster says it's going to rain, it doesn't mean he wants it to rain, and he doesn't actually make it rain don't you?

  5. I’ve seen this on the Oxfam Facebook group over the last few days. Same old theme... why oh why can’t the rules be changed to suit what benefits me me me. Forget that it’s a charity, forget that the team are under the cosh, forget that they have a way of working that was explained when you signed up (if you bothered to read the terms). People’s motivations for volunteering are irrelevant - as long as you do a good job who cares. But the attitude on the Facebook group is so self centred I wonder if they even care that it’s a charity or if there is a pandemic. As long as they get their ‘ticket’.

  10. Another! Always appears on those best of lists, finally listened to it a couple of years ago, immediately went out and bought the vinyl. It's a masterpiece.

  12. We're all pretty shocked by the unprecedented (in our lifetimes) events happening across the world. Some of us are focusing on a music festival, in the way that you can burst into tears when spilling milk when you're grieving. It's an incredibly stressful and unusual time for us all, please, let's all try more empathy and more kindness. People are upset about Glastonbury, but more than that, I think a lot of us are generally upset and bewildered and are using the cancellation of the festival to try to focus and make sense of our feelings. I'm trying to cut everyone, everywhere a bit more slack at the moment. Edit: apart from Donald Trump of course, he's a prick.

  13. I love how Arcadia's fireworks line up with Lemon Twigs' drum fill from this video I took in 2017: Love bless the Crows Nest and all who sail in her. Back soon enough.

  14. It's fantastic. There are only 5 touring pitches and 10 camping ones. We have stayed there the weekend before the last 4 festivals before going on to our campsite on the Sunday afternoon.

  15. Assume that’s the small site you see from the Tor, we were looking at a site that’s a mile or so up a country road outside Pilton. Had a walk past it a few years back and it looked really nice.

  16. do you really need them to say it? do you really believe June is going to happen? Tell me when you have a new date or decide to cancel, I don't need the speculations before that

  19. But they do have established procedures. It's not the exact scenario, true, as Glastonbury is the main reason (but not only reason) that people get priority but other festivals have cancelled before The problem with carrying places over is that there'll be no (or very few) places available for Glastonbury 2021, and that's a big recruiting tool for the other festivals they steward at

  20. I'm with you. The opening bars of 'In My Place' always bring the Pyramid to mind...and the drop after the quiet intro to 'Amsterdam' sets my spine tingling every time. Terrific album.

  21. I think that's a sensible assumption. The festivals probably share a fair amount of infrastructure, so I would imagine that a fair amount of the Latitude site can't be built fully until after Glastonbury would have finished anyway, so although I'm doubtful (but hopeful) that Latitude will go ahead, I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that the Latitude team will now follow suit because Glastonbury has cancelled. I also imagine that suppliers are desperate for later festivals to go ahead, so are leaning on them not to cancel until they have to. This is just my opinion though, and for all I know they could be announcing the cancellation as we speak!

  22. My girlfriend just lost her job this morning thanks to covid killing the events industry temporarily. No, it's not egocentric to be thinking about getting some much needed money back on something we won't be going to.

  26. Okay! Thank you for keeping this site going by the way. I think it’s helping more people than you think. Plus, no festivals doesn’t mean people would flock. I’m sure you know that all of us will find literally anything to natter on about

  27. I'm the same. The week between the poster drop and today was horrible. The line-up was awesome, but no matter how positive you tried to be, you just knew deep down it wouldn't happen, but you tortured yourself anyway with that small glimmer of hope. Then last nights leak felt like a real kicking, but it allowed it time to sink in before the official cancellation. Now with the news of the ticket rollover and the acceptance that the cancellation is for the best, I feel a lot better now. At least now we have something amazing to look forward to when we have all got safely through the shitstorm that is 2020.

  31. A couple of 00s indie classics. Not all of it was landfill, these 2 probably get lost in the mix but god they're good. Both seem raw yet polished, visceral yet composed. I know indie music gets some stick on here but these 2 albums have certainly stood the test of time.

  32. Garden party at my mates place. Will be a mini Glastonbury. We had one last year when we missed out on tickets. Tried to recreate the festival experience even down to the wristbands.

  33. There are loads who got tickets only because it was the 50th aniversary (I know a few) I wonder how many will rollover the tickets now it is just the 2021 festival. Lots of said group also think the lineup is rubbish. I hope that increases numbers not keeping their tickets. You might gather from that I don't have a ticket.

  34. I'm going Wednesday 24th June for first announcement. Right as gates would have opened. And an announcement of the acts from the first poster who they r secured for the following year.

  36. NF (with my Son) was cancelled Jade Bird in Bristol Tonight - This was actually the rescheduled gig as last time she did 3 songs and had to leave as her voice was shot. Cancelled though now with no reschedule I will be donating part of my refund back to the venue for Jade Bird as it is the Trinity community centre in Bristol so will need all the help they can get
