Because that isn't normal for Mad Cool. As others have said, they always do it at 11am GMT. If they have the Strokes, and I remain (cautiously) optimistic, it'll come with a bunch of others on their terms. Wouldn't be at all surprised by a cluster starting with My Chemical Romance and ending with the Strokes from 11am tomorrow or Friday.3 points

as an aside as you are all so good at maths ... here is crazyfool1 appearing in a maths book written by my dad ... is anyone any good at Flow charts ?3 points

It's quite obviously more than just one song. I'm not a great lover of their music but hardly deserving of the stick they get round here. A quick listen to their latest album show there's a bit more about them than just writing them off as a one hit wonder popular with the dark fruits crowd.3 points

Some clashes are imminent, so its better to clash completely different music genres then the opposite...more sane wishes would be not to be clashes between Pavement and Dinosaur jr. or Tyler and Pnl or Strokes and kgawl then your crazy wishes3 points

OK, here goes, a quick personal EOTR/GM comparison as someone who goes to both festivals. Surroundings, outside of the site itself. Both great, but Green Man wins here. The mountains and the town of Crickhowell within walking distance. The site itself. EOTR wins here for the Garden Stage and the Woods alone. Food. Score draw. Beer. Both excellent, but EOTR wins here purely because the good stuff is more spread out across the site not just in one place. The queues at The Courtyard at GM can be off-putting. Main Stage: The Mountain Stage at GM wins here. Second Stage: No competition. The Garden Stage at EOTR is magnificent. Tented Stage: Green Man wins here for open sides. Camping: Score draw. Car Parking: The walk from Orange Car Park at GM is grim, so EOTR gets the points. People: Similar but different. Green Man has more families. So the points depend on your attitude to that. Comedy and Literature: Much more a thing at Green Man. Local community involvement: Easy win for Green Man. Music: Look at the lineup and decide for yourself. It's a personal thing.3 points

I love how forthright and confident everybody is in their predictions, based upon almost no information other than gaps in touring schedules and hearsay. Outstanding leaps of faith! Though I don't contribute (as I would simply provide what amounts to a wish list!), its just about my favorite thread on the forum to read - top notch entertainment so keep up the good work people!2 points

Pretty obvious it's a clock pointing at 6pm, same hour as the Best Kept Secret and NOS Alive announcements. Posted at 12:51. We're getting The Strokes tonight. And I'm getting my tickets this week.2 points

Watching people consistently pester Dan about info is like watching a child continue to tap the glass at an aquarium over and over and over when you’ve told them not to lmao. We’ll get the announcement when it comes, I’m sure Dan will tell us if he gets anything solid.2 points

Absolutely fantastic. After the highs of them being announced for Primavera and then the lows of realising i cant go due to holidays, these being announced here as the final Saturday headliner is the best festival related news for me so far this year. i cant fucking wait.2 points

I don't think she's playing any. But, if she was playing Reading and Leeds she'd headline or co-headline, she's far too big to sub (or will be when the new album comes out). Hope that answers your question kid.2 points

Tail end of last year, Blaenavon, Michael Kiwanuka and Have A Nice Life all pretty good.2 points

Hmm so this link says a 4 person tent floor area is 65 feet square https://www.sierra.com/blog/camping/right-tent-size/ Triple it to take account of guy ropes and space between tents etc gives roughly 195Sq Ft for a 4 person tent. 37m x 32m is about 12700 Sq Ft. Which would work out at about 65 4 man tents. I think, how's my maths?2 points

Up to 1990 we'd been able to drive our bus in sans tickets and do pretty much what we liked. After the riot in '90 all changed, no festival in '91 and so in '92 we knew that we had to come up with a plan. We had a shonky old home made stage that we used to take to free festivals and I managed to blag Arabella C that it would be suitable for the outside theatre stage. The audience couldn't see juggler's clubs at the top of their flight and people riding tall unicycles were out of sight as the tent wasn't tall enough! Here it is.2 points

Essentially it's a generalisation of anyone who's a fan of your typical 'lad rock' bands (Oasis, Courteeners, Catfish & the Bottlemen, Blossoms etc) is a drinker of the cider Strongbow Dark Fruits as you'll find a lot of them do. So you may see them referred to as the Dark Fruits crowd or something similar.1 point

I'm making the trek to mad cool this year as well. Me and the gf have got tickets, hostel, travel for just under 600 between us. When at Reading we do camping plus, so it's actually costing us less. I'll still be at Reading as well anyway as I have a good friend from Australia coming over while it's one who has always wanted to go.1 point

Haha not yet. Peggy Gou the brand will play her music to anyone that wants to hear it apparently and doesn’t give a fuck. Even if it means playing for Saudi Arabia. That’s crossing a line for me. Fuck her.1 point

I bet that was a show, saw them at werchter which don't have the most lively crowds. Would of been on a different level at Sziget.1 point

You think that 'the gammon' would be furious to see Fleetwood Mac headlining? The band who produced 'Rumours', the best selling album of the 1970's? Do you just mean 'misogynists' at this point?1 point

They're not 'everywhere' by any stretch, and I still think the combo with them and Macca is what makes it special. Plus the rest of the line-up. It's special. It looks like of the 3 BST shows already on sale Pearl Jam is the one that has already sold out... And people still think they're not big enough to headline Glastonbury...1 point

Looking at 2/3 nights at the Pyramid this year. Delighted. Hoping for Foals or The National on the Other on Sunday night to round off the weekend.1 point
