  1. On behalf of FMS we hope you enjoy the festival and be safe in the knowledge that we are there to help you if you are in trouble.

  2. Is this the ideal line-up based on who's touring this summer? No. Is it worth the 40 euros per day I paid for my six day ticket? Absolutely. Liam doing Definitely Maybe - I'm in. Fred Again.. showing why he's truly headline material - yes please. Editors, Fontaines, Yard Act and Nova Twins bringing the guitars. Thank you very much. Plus excellent female representation with Raye, Halsey, Aurora and Janelle. And one more headliner (plus Jungle and Charli?) still to come. Perfect? Not even close. But as awful as comments of socials would have you believe? Not at all.

  3. I think most of us are in the same situation re: headliners. I can't wait for Fred Again... and, no matter what people think, he's a massive booking with serious credibility. I'm not sure I've ever met a Sam Smith fan in my life, but on Spotify he has four songs that have reached 1 billion streams and, by the end of the year, I suspect all four will have broken 2 billion streams each. So, someone is listening to him. I thought Garrix's show was excellent in 2019 and will watch again. Stormzy is the weird one. Due to be a sub in 2020 and, yet, is a headliner in 2024 with no significant release between the two dates. Strange. Two (potentially three?) headliners to go. Subs are looking good though if rumours/leaks are to be believed. Raye and Janelle Monae provide excellent female representation and will both be great live. Line up just needs more guitars and live music, rather than button pushing IMHO.

  4. Everyone knows how much I adore the festival, but losing Williams Green still really hurts. There was and is no other venue that had/has that identity and curated line-up. It was like a small version of the 'New Bands Tent' that JPT was once and for many of us was a key part of our daily line-up schedule. Yes, the big bookings, especially on Thursday with so much less on around the site, became untenable. Fine. Stop booking those bands. But, that combination of upcoming bands and also daytime sets by more established artists who were playing elsewhere during the weekend (Everything Everything, Courtney Barnett etc) was unique to Glastonbury, and its passing is one small step towards the Farm feeling more like 'all the other festivals'. And that's a huge shame. With the loss of The Rabbit Hole, the only vaguely comparable daytime venue (though I do understand the reasons for its end), that type of experience at Glastonbury has taken another huge hit for those of us less interested in chart popular stuff and nostalgia acts. I truly hope they knock it out of The Park with a replacement for the ol' Hole. Ben

  8. Pretty sure I've been to the festival more than all those that have thus far contributed to this thread and I don't share the sentiment about the line up, already plenty I'd like to see and that list will massively fill out. As ever there were some acts hoped for which have played before and would have delighted others, but I'd have just shrugged at, so I don't pine for them. I come from the olden days when there were two stages for and many of the acts on the second one were not well known. Also there were often some acts on the Pyramid who had played before.

  13. I always await the poster knowing that there won't be that much that is for me outside of The Park and Woodsies. But, this year, I probably have more on this poster than many other years! I'm as excited as ever and, more importantly, like a child on Christmas Eve in anticipation of the heady mayhem of the area drops. Truly my favourite time of the year! Ben

  15. I have used the Accessible Facilities since 2011, you will need to register with the Accessible Team to do this - further information on registering can be found here - https://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/information/access-information/ New this year (proof of your disability is required) you also have to register with Nimbus and obtain either a Nimbus Card - £15 for 3 years or a Nimbus Glastonbury Pass which is free. further information can be found here - https://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/information/access-information/registering-to-use-the-accessible-facilities-onsite/ ***The deadline for Access Applications is the 30th April 2024, however I would recommend people submitted these earlier to avoid missing out on facilities. And a reminder that the access facilities are not for people with temporary impairments such as broken bones, healing wounds or woman who are pregnant. Unfortunately, the Festival cannot offer closer parking, reserve camping or assistance getting on/ off and around the site to people with temporary impairments. Happy to answer any questions about the facilities offered, Spring Ground campsite or East Accessible Campervan Area as I have stayed in both. I have also volunteered in the Accessible Marquee with Oxfam Festival Stewards. 😊

  16. I'm going to respond to this one more, and this one only, because this is a thread about UK politics, not forum moderation. I just felt that given your accusations, it was important to address these things publicly: The "facts" you've complained about being hidden/moderated have been you calling another forum user something insulting. We're not hiding or restricting links to sources, to pieces of news, etc, we're hiding people throwing insults and accusations at each other. And if you want to talk about cliquey things being forum death - way back ~2009 on these forums, you told me and others off for having a personal argument on these forums - saying that was just cliquey arguments and that these forums weren't about us. I respected that then, and I wish you'd respect that now. Bringing personal arguments onto the forums, and dragging the conversation around to what you specifically know/believe about other individuals is cliquey, isn't welcoming to people outside of that. That is exactly what we've been moderating you for, and exactly what we're trying to reduce.

  19. Interview (in Spanish) with PS co-director Alfonso Lanza in Barcelona newspaper La Vanguardia https://www.lavanguardia.com/cultura/musica/20240321/9575757/alfonso-lanza-primavera-sound-director-entrevista-novedades.html Decent read though no great revelations. They have sold 80% of tickets so it will be sold out, ie 65/70k a day [not sure this is a given, myself] Overall happy with stage arrangements from last year Tough competing with the mega multinational promoters but PS independence/kudos is also an advantage Costs always rising, €30m budget for artists plus production. Artist fees have more than doubled in last 10 yrs Ticket revenue lower than last year because so many bought early doors, 55/60% from outside Spain Great relations with BCN town hall, contract til 2026. Both parties recognise no forum means no Primavera. Any issues are more to do with noise, crowds etc bothering locals Happy with current number/distribution of days in festival Brexit was a blow but situation has improved this year other stuff about latin america and music industry in general. more than 10 cities interested in hosting a PS event incl in Germany and Sweden

  20. I'm very disappointed. Because most of this line up is for the under 22 years old, let's be honest : soooooo many edm-electro-techno names... ! And most of them are quite unknown . It's disrespectful to Sziget fans who have been attending it for years. Like "you're more than 26 ? go f.ck yourself." When Bands/Artists like Placebo, Biffy Clyro, Keane, Snow Patrol, Idles, TDCC, NBT, Wet Leg, Justice, Korn, Deftones, The Offspring, Maneskin, The Kills, Architects (maybe too much metal lol..), Bring Me The Horizon, etc... etc.... ETC..... can be available in August, and Sziget only take "SOLO - NOT TOO EXPENSIVE" artists .............. yes, I take it as a lack of respect. It makes me angry. And sad. I personally like 9 acts of this 2024 line up. Only 9 ... I'm sorry @Sziget2024_Leaks that must be annoying to read this kind of comments 😕 thanks again for your presence here, but please, can you tell me, tell us, what's the direction taking by the new owners ..? "only young people", " cut the line up budget", "no more bands", etc...? The difference in line up this year is completely frightening.

  21. I mean, apart from Sam Smith and maybe Fred Again, none of current headliners are actually headliner material. Some other year they would definitely be subs (or they were subs and haven't actually gained that much popularity since) so, having a "headliner" such as Raye or Charli would be totally in line with this year's lineup, which shows you how weak this lineup really is

  22. I've been twice (2016 and 2019) and me and my group, none have been more than twice, and we're all hugely excited and feel privileged to be going. This was increased by the first poster drop and am looking forward to the area announcements and the map etc. The magic of anywhere/thing is bound to drop if you experience it on a regular basis, the odd change will only delay it getting fully boring but it will never be as good as the first 1 or 2 times you experienced it. For every 10 people on here that's been multiple times and are feeling a little underwhelmed there's 10 people who've either never been or only been once or twice that are hugely excited.

  25. So I’ve got type 1 diabetes and yesterday over lunch we were chatting about setting up a thread to help people with medical conditions get the best out of the festival . So for me my advice is to use the lockups to store some spare equipment and to buy some frio wallets from Amazon which will help to keep insulin cold . Any type 1 advice I’ll be more than happy to give advice

  29. I would agree - there are some roles that can be made viable with a RA and there are some that can't and the charities and orgs should be clear about that. I may be reaching the end of my ability to litterpick for example and I am ok with that as I think they should be able to specify x, y, z. Other roles should have very clear RA policies and make sure that they are delivering what they say they wil. What they shouldnt do is claim one thing and do another.

  32. Its a good gig. I have done it and its never as bad as you think it may be. Your team / crew will help you and the crack is great and the WaterAid permanent staff are incredibly well in tune with your health Safety and well-being. The shift times are really well split and one of the things I love is that no matter what role you have with them, you are in the middle of all the action and get to hear music and be in the atmosphere when on shift. I know many returning loo crew staff and know very few who say "never again"

  36. Grace Jones is a very, very small headliner for a festival this size. And so is Prodigy anno 2024, actually. Nothing on this lineup comes close to Lana Del Rey and SZA, actually, in terms of size. The likes of Arcade Fire and Underworld are about the same as The National, Pulp, Justice, Disclosure and Vampire Weekend.

  37. To add yet another two penneth, personally the top half of the lineup doesn't look inspiring, but when I delve into the bottom half there's some of my favourite acts, and I've counted a higher than average amount I want to see for a first poster drop. So I guess that means I think the lineup is good? But the general public will just look at the poster at a glance (so the three headliners plus a few more near the top) and think it's sh*t. But you know what, great, I want people to think that, any marginal gains I can take on ticket day if a few hundred thousand less try for tickets next year 😛 I don't think there's anything Glastonbury/Emily aren't doing that they should be, I think it's just got slightly lower hype because this year there's no Elton or Macca. Imagine the exact same lineup with Stevie W instead of SZA - I think we'd be seeing similar excitement levels to the last 2 years. I do wonder if dividing by stages has a negative impact on the perceived poster quality? IMO the Pyramid stage lineup on its own never really 'inspires', so grouping them all together right at the top might make the whole thing look worse. And I know this doesn't sound believable but I sometimes actively hope for bad lineups so I can enjoy all the other glasto delights without silly bands getting in the way.... Man i do like to write essays on the rare occasions I post. In conclusion I can't wait and I wake up every day looking forward to another great glasto 😄

  38. As above, that only bothers some regulars. This is my 31st in a row and it's not a concern to me, as it never has been for earlier decades whenever it's happened. A quick and dirty count there are what 85ish places listed in the 2023 Clashfinder, so always plenty on to suit even my aged and ill informed tastes at any time 🙂

  42. I don't recall ranting on here, either in this thread or any others. I simply answered a question about RA's as I have stewarded for Oxfam on 5 occasions and requested RA's pre-festival due to my accessible needs. This led to further questions which when I answered I was polite and helpful. Sorry I couldn't be positive, but as Meatloaf said "two out of three ain't bad".
