The Cat Empire is an amazing add, such a great live band. Can thoroughly recommend. Couple of other good acts as well, plenty I don't know so will check out.
  3. The most interesting thing about Conde Nast as a potential buyer (aside from their money and high end media brands) is that they own Pitchfork. Some symbiosis there could be very interesting.
  4. Great! Cheers for such a quick response. Have popped a note in the calendar
  5. Happy to say I have never pee'd on the land. Only came close once, stuck in the crowd near the front of the Pyramid after a sub-headliner. For some reason, trying to exit the pit on the left hand side was like swimming against the tide and it took f**king ages to get out. Finally got to the bogs behind The Village Inn/Cider Bus to see queues for everything - even the urinals. Thought my bladder would explode but got there in the nick of time. The whole experience also seems to have focussed my memory on that event as I'm not 100% sure who was playing! Might have been Dizzee Rascal in 2013 as I was leaving to see Nile & Chic instead of AM, just as all the AM fans flooded in.
  6. For the Parc Del Forum show on the Wednesday do I need to pre-book anything or just turn up on the day? Also how likely is it we'll get in. Thanks 🙂
  7. On the AccessTicket app do you have to have data whilst using to get your wristband or will it work without?
  8. Best lineup of all the stages announced so far imo. If I had a ticket I'd be spending half of my time at Avalon. Shame the BBC don't televise it.
  9. keen to know when Kate Nash will play if anyone has info or figures it out.. still searching for a Sunday headliner, here’s hoping!
  10. yeah it is a thorny one isn't it. I saw James Brown in 2004 actually - albeit as a 23 year old who was ignorant to his past (even though I appreciate now that it is well documented). I'm with you that there have been people who have played with similar allegations and so it isn't impossible. I think where it feels a bit different is that last time they played the uk it was such big news. Front page of BBC news homepage and a number of people actively voting with their feet and returning tickets for the remaining UK gigs that feels relatively recent. I feel, rightly or wrongly, that this gig is dipping a toe in the UK market again to see how it goes - for the band and the promoters. If it is okay then I think the next run will be back to those larger 1 day London festivals/gigs.
  11. I think the allegations around Win Butler's behaviour would potentially count Arcade Fire out tbh. I've stated before, but the reason for non-announcement must be a good one. It's three weeks since the second announcement and with 112 days to go until the festival begins, the opening day still doesn't have a headliner. This will affect all ticket sales, especially the one day one which, I suspect, will have sold next to none. Why leave it so long? If it's not a big name incoming, then it's because a major f*ck up in their booking strategy has been made and Mackelmore will be announced next week. Trying to be positive, and because the line-up is definitely missing a REALLY big ticket seller (Fred excepted, perhaps), I'm going to go out on a limb and state I truly believe this a big name is incoming. Well, bigger than what we have so far. Who that is, is a different matter entirely.
  12. Would any of the current headliners be able to sell out Budapest Arena?

Saw them at Shambala last year and they were great.
  14. Excellent thank you . Friday evening is light for me until Jungle so will be my first act at Avalon
  15. Just give me Glade and Silver Hayes please. Pretty sure Glade has been early May in the past though
  16. Maybe not, but I still reckon Lulu could be well busy, depending on time/day. Last ever gig, heritage/nostalgia act. The ingredients are there.
  17. She just told Whiskers he's not coming, despite having two tickets
  18. kids field and west holts .. next week us my guess
  19. I would say baby queen is a headliner the way she’s placed. Yes it’s alphabetical but she’s on her own
  20. Are they calling Stamer a tool? Bit rude if so. 🙂
  21. Properly up for The Go! Team – used to love them back in the day and a few mates of mine said they've been great on the Thunder Lightning Strike anniversary tour.
  22. As long as not sold out and unlikely to be then yes you can.
  23. My bet is we get no more announcements this week with the resale happening, but we get 2 next week. I'm going with either the new map, Silver Hayes, or something like Theatre & Circus or Kidzfield.

    Avalon 2024

Cracking lineup. More on Avalon than pyramid for me. Skindred, the feeling, go team, Kate Nash, cat empire, magic numbers, frank turner.
