Download have announced their District X after hours entertainment. Sullivan King is an unreal booking and one of the best of the entire festival. It’s his first ever UK show. He’s a DJ who mixes dubstep with metal, playing live guitar and doing vocals. His shows look insane and it’s going to go off in the tent when he plays. I’m looking forward to seeing how more than a lot of the lineup.

According to the website up to 5 people can stay on one pitch. The pitches are 5m x 5m so it's a decent size. 🙂

Yeah I wish they would give bands longer setlists. There are several bands playing lower on the bill that would get me to go to this year of they had longer sets. But as it I know many of them will play Bristol (which is a short train ride for me) so it feels better value to see them do headline sets locally.

It's a superb lineup - stick these on and find yourself some new must-sees.

No worries! I haven't done a Glasto one this year or last, after this place went sour and for various reasons I've not found the time. I've just been doing ones for this and End of the Road, much easier and better hit rate, and recently some collaborative Glasto ones on OOF. Your best bet for Glasto this year is @northernringo's -

It's not just WaterAid in there. There's a lot of other crew being fed there as well. You can actually eat in there most meals for £5. If you go towards the end of each meal session they will take you as long as they have enough food left. And it's good, much better than International Eats. Of course who ever is replacing them this year might be better.

All the more reason to try and buy some merch or something at the small club shows. I think there is a need for smaller bands/venues to be honest about how tight the costs can be, and maybe provide a QR code for Paypal "tip jar" or similar should people want to give a little more/if there's no merch they like. With smaller gigs at our local venue, circa £10 a ticket, if there's something I want to get to but won't be able to, I'll still buy a ticket to support them if I've the funds to do so.

Primavera Sound is always somewhat unpredictable, but I believe it's not just about maintaining numbers on the lineup, but rather filling thematic niches. If a DJ cancels, they'll likely be replaced by another DJ; if a electro pop second-tier headliner, they'll very probably be replaced it by a similarly sized artist to fill that gap
