This weeks postbag ...

Following on from the underwhelming success of the sifi blog, I've received literally some messages from the ever-decreasing readership, which I thought I'd share with you in a regular "postbag" section. I've changed the user-names to protect the guilty. The first one comes from a Mr Templeton Sonic. He writes "I've recently started seeing a new girl, and I think she's perfect for me. We share the same predispositions, and have passionately enjoyed periods of intense predilections t

Shut up Peter.

So the cat has been put amongst the pidgeons regarding Teago and Leeds, not good but not the end of the world. The company outside of Teago was good anyway so no harm no foul. My worry at the moment is that I still haven't got the Reading tickets I am swapping for Leeds tickets. Ideally I wanted to get them swapped this weekend. I do not want to be scrambling about for a ticket if this falls through. I don’t think it will fall through but until I have the ticket in my hand it is a worry.

dodgy addresses

The second lot of passes for V Fest have turned up today, for the efests reviewer and photographer that are attending. Somehow, the press office seem to have lost the first line off the efestivals address on these passes (the set that turned up yesterday for the other site were fine), and they only contain the company name, town and postcode. Luckily I seem to have a smart postie, who worked out where they should go - thanks Mr Postie. God knows what would have happened if they'd have

Goodbye Armstrong.....

Hohum.... I'm sitting here waiting for someone to come and take away my old car, Armstrong. Gonna be sad to see him go but all good things must come to the end, and truth be told he was getting a little bit too expensive to run on a daily basis - it's a Peugeot 205 that's 18 years old, and I could no longer justify spending extortionate amounts of money on insurance, MOTs and general upkeep costs. 9pm and he's gone....never to be seen again

eFestivals on TV?

I've just had a chat with a reporter from Channel 4 news. They'll be running a piece (probably this Thursday, 7pm) about the explosion of live music and festivals, and they wanted my expert ( ) advice to help with their piece. They said that eFestivals would be mentioned, and it would either be a quote from me (not my voice tho) or a screenshot of the website ... but I never quite believe these things till they happen. Anyhow, fingers crossed!

vodka in the grave yard.

Me and darren yesterday decided to go into town for launch, then went to the swan for a pint, bar maid gave us an extra five pound in our change so we decided what would we do with this extra cash...It was such a lovely day we'd already spent loads of time walking along the albert dock, the mersey and all over town, we decided we'd go and buy a bottle of vodka and sit of in a park somwhere haha... i havent drank vodka for a very long time, and it deffo wasnt in a park last time. Here Comes The Rain!

Everyone seems a bit despondant about the weather, but i don't seem to mind it in the slightest. K moans cos it effects her camera - and she has a point. But me I'm quite looking forward to my pint staying a bit cooler. Ground's too dry for much mud - so I'm happy. Only for Reading would it seriously get me down and that's only cos the whole place turns depressing. So I'm not that bothered! I'm more worried about the non-appearance of Z's present from a website I've never used before! 24 hou

The Meaning of "Dreckly...."

Ok one of the (many) reasons I want to move west is that the 'pace of life' is, in my experience, rather less frenetic than round these parts. Ie things don't move at the pace of a greyhound on speed chasing after a rabbit running as if all beelzebubs whippets were on its heels. Yes its a cliche but there it is. And I am therefore familar with the west country concept of 'dreckly'....or as it is spelt in other parts of the country, 'directly'. Simply put, if someone says they will do somethi

Take Four, Scene 3, Act 1

A fairy tale for you all today. Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin. Once upon a time there was a huge country, rich in musicians and festivals, with plenty of music and places to sit outside and enjoying the sunshine. In fact, it's the near the end of Summer at the start of our story, children, and the people of this country had all been enjoying listening to their favorite music in the sunshine all summer long, and they had danced and frolicked and some had even taken some swe

good morning mister insect bite, what a location

So this morning I awake after about 4 hours sleep, they say sleeping in multiples of 4 hours is good for you, not if its 4 times 1, then again, all the sleep I can get is a bonus I suppose. So a take my post-wake-up pee and afterwards look in the mirror, wait, what's that lumpy thing on my eyelid? yep, insect bite to the eyelid, I didn't feel the irritating itchiness before i noticed it, but now its really annoying me. So today I'm under a sort of house arrest, two deliveries due, one of whic

slowing down / thinking forwards

well, things are starting to slow down at eFestivals now - there's finally time to breathe - as most of the announcements about festivals for this year have been made, so there's not so much in the way of news and updates each day. But even with the extra resources that eFestivals now has there's still lots and lots to do, with the chance (finally!) to catch up on some of the things that have been put to the side - sometimes for several years - because there's just not been enough hours in th

Avatar explained

As everyone seems to think my avatar is a crab, and despite reassurances from me that it isn't I still get comments like "it is a crab I tell you" and "if it isn't a crab what the hell is it?", I figured I'd put the answer to the question on everyone's lips in my blog. This will also save me typing it thousands of times in threads I'm posting in. Basically it's the club badge for Salisbury City FC, one of the teams I follow (the other 2 being QPR (god knows why) and Sheffield United (for obvi

i don't like Mondays

It's the adjustment from the weekend and working in a sweat box. Did lots of work as I'm headed for a hugely complicated couple of weeks. Travelling to festivals, Z's birthday and a trip to High Wycombe all with hardly any days to do a mountain of work. I'm feeling under the weather and irked by my mistakes, sometimes i wonder why i open my mouth when most of the time my factual knowledge is totally amiss. At which point i end up looking incompetent as usual. No idea why I'm feeling so low t

I vant to be aloooooone

I hate being like this, as a I genuinely DO like my flatmate, but I've just got back from a week of being constantly surrounded by people (or more specifically, very chatty and mostly drunk Irish family members) 24/7 and I'm desperate for some peace and quiet. This morning was fine - flatmate and her visitor went out, house to myself, lazed around in bed, bliss. Now, just as I want to get up and wander around the house a bit, they're back and showing no signs of moving. I know I'm being terribly
