Held in Derbyshire, the Y-Not Festival started in 2006 with over 30 bands and DJs. This three day festival steers away from sponsorship and high prices. In 2011 the festival runs from Friday 5th until Sunday 8th August over two stages at a site on Mouldridge Lane, near Matlock, Derbyshire.

The festival attempts to have an intimate nature, with many of the bands camping with festival goers, and friendly stewards. Late night entertainment includes a dance tent, or camp fire singalongs and there will be real ales and local ciders available.

The Go! Team headline Friday, Feeder on Saturday, and Maximo Park will headline Sunday, with Beardyman, Brother, Jamie Woon, The Rifles, New Young Pony Club, Art Brut, The Duke Spirit, Sonic Boom Six, Dananananaykroyd, Miles Kane, Egyptian Hip Hop, Yaaks, Pete And The Pirates, Futures, All The Young, Dave McPherson, Jake Morley, Saturday, Dinosaur Pile Up, Dutch Uncles, 26, Swimming, The Anomalies, Admiral Fallow, Tribes, King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys, Films Of Colour, Zambula, Redtrack, The Milk, Stagecoach, Karima Francis and Tellison also confirmed. Fancy dress theme

'Good vs Evil' will be the theme for this year's fancy dress (on the Saturday).

The festival is expected to run the reward scheme for people to get to and from the festival greenly in 2011. The hope is to cut the carbon footprint down to a minimum, by having at least 60% of festival goers arrive by either public transport or 4+ people in each car. In doing so, festival goers will be rewarded with lanyards, programmes, posters, T-shirts and showers.

To reduce the festival's carbon footprint and also to increase accessibility, there will be a free shuttle bus which connects the Buxton - Ashbourne bus route, and Matlock train station to the Festival. Travellers will be able to simply book their free place online at www.ynotfestivals.com/bus.php once the service becomes available.

More information will be here when available.
