The sizeable crowd filed out into the sun, fools! But those that remained were treated to the gorgeous soothing and re-vitalising songs of Martha and her assembled band. Her voice is just sublime and the musicians behind her enhanced the fragile sound rather than drowning it out. Much of the new album and ‘Bimbling’ were presented to us and it was lovely to recharge batteries to it. The next day I saw a barman with a copy of her album, I commented it was a good choice, he said her set had got him through his shift and put a spring in his step for the rest of the day. Thinking about it, she did the same to me.
