I love Supergrass. I've loved them since the dawn of I Should Coco. I'd never seen them live until they played at V2000.

They play to perfection. It sounds good, they look like bonafide stars. They nonchalantly breeze through some of the maddest songs ever written. They kicked off with Moving and bulldozed through tons of Supergrass faves, to the amusement of the crowd who were loving it. Technically, you really can't fault them, they give the fans what they want.

But what else? Gaz wasn't very chatty; we don't ask for in depth dialogue between songs, but a little recognition for being there would have been nice. Don't get me wrong, I loved it. It was amazing to hear such fantastic songs live for once rather than hitting 'play' on the CD player, but a spark was missing. Someone tell me please! If I'd seen them years ago, did they give any more to it? Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I got the feeling their hearts weren't in it.

The most exciting bit was a slight lyric change during Mary: I like to **** her on a basis daily. Maybe seeing shocksters like the Bloodhound Gang has numbed my sense of musical enjoyment. I don't want Supergrass to be a circus, I just want them to love it as much as we do.

Humph.
