This major folk arts festival, now in it's 43rd year, features a professional programme of folk and roots music, ceilidhs, international dance teams, family entertainers, workshops and a Children's Festival which incorporates entertainment, music, puppetry, circus skills and craft workshops.

Acts have now been confirmed and include Seth Lakeman, John Tams & Barry Coope; Battlefield Band; Van Eyken; Peatbog Faeries; The Demon Barber Roadshow; and Sid Kipper. Click here for more details.

The festival organisers (in partnership with others) have commissioned a special work called Parallelogram which aims to fuse traditional folk and jazz. It has been written by Aidan O’Rourke of Blazin’ Fiddles and Pete Wareham of Acoustic Ladyland and currently involves the talents of several celebrated artists including Brian Finnegan, Martin Green, Kris Drever, John Blease and Oli Hayhurst. This will be touring festivals from November 2006 and throughout 2007, and is already booked for Towersey next August.

Concert venues at the festival include a Concert Tent in a corner of the main site, an Arts Centre Marquee, and an Open Stage, also on the main site; as well as St Catherines Church and the village hall, all playing host to many well-known artists. More information about the line-up will be posted here when available.

CAMPING
There are three festival camp sites in the village, costing around £15 for 5 nights for adults and £12 for 12-17 year olds with under 12s free.
The main site is on the playing field, the same field as the Concert, Dance and Children’s event stages. There are mains toilets, water, washing facilities and showers. Vehicle parking is not allowed on site. The principal camping use is for families and is a quieter area.
Site 2 is only a few hundred yards away and will accommodate cars and caravans etc. It has water, mains and re-circulating toilets and all night security. The sites are flat and suitable for disabled access.
There is a third site, more particularly suited to revellers.

Camp sites are for season ticket holders only and will open at noon on Thursday. Please do not arrive in Towersey before then.

There is also a large FREE car park for day visitors, flat with access for the disabled although said to be a bit rough underfoot.

Tickets are on sale, priced at Adult £72 (to 31 May 2007 - then £80), camping £16; Youth (12-17yrs) £47 (to 31 May 2007- then £53), camping £13; Child (5-11yrs) £36 (to 31 May 2007 - then £80), camping - £16. Click here to buy.
