FREE concerts for the South Tyneside Festival’s Sunday Concert series 2017 at Bents Park, South Shields on back to back Sunday's from Sunday 9th July until Sunday 30th July 2017.

These special, outdoor gigs will be the first in a series of four consecutive Sunday Concerts taking place as part of the South Tyneside Festival 2017, with more big name acts still to be announced.

Line-up

Sunday 9th July: KT Tunstall, plus Big Red & The Grinners, and Charlotte Yanni.
Sunday 16th July: Busted, plus The Understudies, Sonny, and Call on Sunday
Sunday 23rd July: Louisa Johnson, plus Jedward, 5 After Midnight, Matt Terry and South Tyneside Samba Drum Club
Sunday 30th July: Sister Sledge, plus The Shakes

This year a limited number of 'priority access' advance tickets will be available for £5, which guarantee access to the concert.

For those without a ticket the events are still free, but works strictly on a first-come-first-served basis.

Seating is not provided but you are allowed to bring your own folding chairs or rugs to sit on. Please be aware that people often stand immediately in the front of the stage and this is often encouraged by the artistes who are performing. If you want to enjoy the concert from the comfort of a deck chair you are recommended to set up some way back from the stage.

Transport Information

For details of bus and Metro services please consult www.nexus.org.uk. A number of bus stops are located adjacent to Bents Park on Sea Road. The nearest Metro Station is South Shields which is approximately a 20 minute walk to Bents Park.

There are numerous car parks located adjacent to Bents Park on South Shields seafront. There is also overspill provision on the Dragon Playing Fields

Disabled Provision

Bents Park is a large open area which provides good views of the stage for those in wheelchairs from most areas. In addition there is a large video screen adjacent to the stage which will show live footage of the concert. There is a designated disabled viewing platform however capacity is limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
