Based on a greenfield site alongside the National Trust workhouse with two main marquee stages and many events taking place in and around the beautiful Minster town of Southwell.

Showcasing international performers of the folk scene, and local performers, with folk dances playing a big part over the weekend, there's plenty of opportunity to get involved in the workshops, ceilidhs, open mic stages and children's events.

Procession

Southwell's fourth folk festival will coincide with the annual Gate to Southwell procession of Morris dancers to Southwell Minster from Nottingham city centre. Events are taking place at the workhouse from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th June.

Line-up

Acts confirmed are Baka Beyond will headline on Friday night, Danu on Saturday night and Eddi Reader on Sunday. Beoga have also confirmed for Sunday. Other main artists booked so far are Chris While & Julie Matthews, Devon Sproule, Chris Wood & Hugh Lupton, Belshazzar's Feast, Jamie Smith's Mabon, Steve Phillips, John Otway and Wild Willy Barrett, Les Barker, Keith Donnelly, Tri, Hat Fitz and Cara Robinson, Anthony John Clarke, Chris Sherburn & Denny Bartley, and more. Tickled Pink and Jamie Smith's Mabon will play for Ceilidhs on Friday and Saturday respectively, with more acts still to be confirmed. For the line-up details as available please click here.

Tickets

The early bird offer has ended. Weekend tickets are priced at £75 for adults, £28 for a youth (12-17), and £160 for a family ticket (2 adults + 2 children).

Day tickets
Friday: adult ticket is priced at £22, a youth aged 12-17yrs £11, a family ticket is priced at £50.
Saturday: adult ticket is priced at £33, £16 for a youth (12-17) and £72 for a family ticket (2 adults + 2 children).
Sunday: adult ticket is priced at £33, £16 for a youth (12-17) and £72 for a family ticket (2 adults + 2 children).

Around the town

In addition to performers in the main marquee, there will be an open mike session marquee, a dance display area, singarounds, and opportunities to meet the artists. There will also be workshops and sessions throughout the town, and it is hoped the Workhouse, a National Trust Property, can be used for some of these.

Kids activities

As well as music there will be children's entertainment in the second marquee. The triple turreted children's tent will house various workshops and activities.

Beer festival

The festival usually also includes a beer and cider festival, with about 40 beers, mostly from micro breweries, and will include several specially commissioned brews and also offer a wide variety of catering options.

Camping

Camping is on adjacent fields. There is camping available, priced at £15 for adults, or £8 for a youth (12-17) with limited space for caravans and motor homes (£5 extra).
