With a full line-up of DJs and live performances. The new Minehead site offers five separate dance arenas covering soul, hip hop, vocal and deep house, r n' b, disco, techno and more.

The 48th Southport Weekender returns Butlins Holiday Resort in Minehead, Somerset, to celebrate 25 years of Weekenders and will be taking place from Friday 11th until Sunday 13th May 2012. For the foreseeable future The Southport Weekenders will now be an annual event taking place each May.

Line-up

Jill Scott will headline, with live music also from Patrice Rushen, Robert Glasper Experiment, Brand New Heavies, Gregory Porter, Kenny Bobien, Josh Milan, Dawn Tallman, Soul II Soul feat. Caron Wheeler, and Shabazz Palaces. Plus guest DJs confirmed are Frankie Knuckles, and David Morales as headliners with Danny Krivit, Kenny Dope, Kerri Chandler, Tony Humphries, Julio Bashmore, Derrick Carter, Karizma, Joey Negro, Jazzy Jeff, Joe Claussell, Jazzie B, Anthony Nicholson, Floatng Points, John Morales, Mr Thing, Kev Beadle, Souldynamic, Andy Davies, Terry Jones, Sean Mccabe, Shortee Blitz, DJ Kilbz, Bigger, Steve Wren, JP, David Rodigan, Fabio & Grooverider, Al Kent, Norman Jay, Gilles Peterson, Mr Scruff, Greg Wilson, and more.

Tickets

Tickets have sold out. All that was required was a £50 per person deposit. There were several types of apartment available, from 2 person apartments upwards. Self catering with extra lounge & kitchen area's are priced at £179 per person for 2 nights and 3 days or non self catering apartments, with seperate bedrooms, tv, tea and coffee making facilities & bathroom priced at £169 per person for 2 nights and 3 days.

25th anniversary

It is 25 years since the first event and in the quarter century that has passed, Southport Weekender has become a globally recognised club brand with spin off festivals in Croatia and a successful compilation series to its name. The event moved to its new home in Minehead in 2011, slightly increasing its capacity but maintaining its friendly vibe.
