There are seven stages within the arena. The iconic Orange main stage with it's recognisable tent, the Arena indoor stage, the Cosmopol R and B stage, the rocky Odeon and Pavillion, The Astoria for the experimental and the Lounge for comedy. The Pavillion Jnr stage hosts upcoming Nordic acts in the campsite from Sunday to Thursday. Many of the stages are undercover (best against the European weather). Since the tragedy in 2000 where 9 fans were crushed to death, safety procedures are in place around the Orange stage such as walkways to prevent sway, and a traffic light system to allow people into the pit area. The acts play on until 4am too.
