Radio One Big Weekend (previously known as One Big Weekend) is a music festival run by BBC Radio 1, held this year in Carlisle Airport, Carlisle, in Cumbria. The two day free festival takes place on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th May.

This event is run in a different location within the United Kingdom each time. It is the biggest free live music event in the UK and always includes a host of new artists.

With live music across four stages - The Main Stage, The In New Music We Trust Stage, The BBC Introducing Stage and The Outdoor Stage, the two-day event is licensed to hold 20,000 people per day and the majority of the free tickets go to residents of Bangor and the surrounding area.

Tickets

Tickets are free and are obtained through a lottery. Registration for tickets will run from Thursday 31 March until 7pm on Thursday 7 April. People wishing to go must register on the BBC website and pairs of tickets will then be allocated. Radio One want to make sure the majority of the tickets go to people who live in Carlisle and the surrounding areas.
