Spirit Fest is a small to medium ( 400-1500 ) gathering of the tribes to celebrate life and love through music, dance and art.

It is a family friendly festival with no alcohol or drugs and a kid's area. Held at Cabourne Parva, in the Lincolnshire Wolds taking place from Friday 12th until Sunday 14th June 2015.

Line-up

Solo artists: Ben Taylor ( Central African harps and songs), Adrian Freedman ( Japanese shakuhachi), Pops Mohamed ( songs and instruments of Africa), Sam Welborne, guitar, Ayla ( sacred songs ), Omer ( guitar songs ), Carrie Tree, and Asha McCarthy.

Bands: Songs for the Golden Age, featuring Ravi, Eternal Heart, featuring the songs of Adrian Freedman, Ombivilium Orchestra ( mbira trance music), Goma family ( Baba Ji songs ), and The Overtone Choir.

Bhakti singing: Haripyari .

Daytime: Main outdoor stage, chai tent stage, children and youth stage.
Evening: Concert Hall, chai tent stage.

The music is from a variety of medicine cultures from the UK, South America and Africa headed by the bands of Ravi Freeman and Adrian Friedman as well as smaller bands and singer songwriters. There will also be Tantra Dance with Seth Newman as well as DJs.

An early bird adult weekend ticket is priced at £50. A youth ticket (aged 13-18 years) is priced at £30, and a child  (aged 6 - 12 years) ticket is priced at £15 for weekend. Babies and small children under 6yrs can attend free.

One Day tickets  will be available on the gate at £40/day.

Paperless tickets can be bought through the website only. Organisers plan to arrange a system for supplying cash for credit/debit cards on site.

Travel info

Cabourne Parva is a farm 15 minutes from Grimsby. There are buses and trains to Grimsby and local bus stopping close to the site. Organisers may be able to run a shuttle service if the demand is large enough at the time.

The festival site is purpose made in the countryside with flush toilets, hot showers and washing up facilities in the camping area. Glamping in bell tents is on offer as well. The main festival area is a gently sloping field with everything in a circle. There is a healing area offering massage as well as other modalities. The food will be both quality vegetarian and eco/wild meat with a juice bar, kambucha bar, chai tent, raw cakes and raw chocolate all at reasonable prices. The kid's area has led activities for six hours a day as well as entertainment. There will be a variety of stalls and workshops such as voice, community, sustainability and eco-building. Two of the site buildings, the restaurant and concert hall are themselves eco-built. In the arts area are exhibited works from the likes of sculptress, Sukhi Barber and local photographer, Rebecca Robyns and many others.

Some exhibits will be shown on the big screen as well as some films for kids and consciousness raising.

Markets, food & drink

There is quality at affordable prices when it comes to food and drink. The main offering is vegetarian/indian but also wild meat BBQ. There is a juice bar, chai tent, raw cakes and raw chocolate. Reasonably priced kids meals will be available. The camping site has its own washing up facility for those cooking their own meals at the campsite. In the market place there will be the usual mix of clothing, jewellery, musical instruments as well as a necessities shop with everything from soap to toothbrushes.

Taking kids

Spirit Fest is kids friendly. The site is very safe in itself and there are kids and youth activities led by professionals for three hours in the morning and three hours in the afternoon. The kid's area is in the woods near the camping area and has its own stage and flush toilets nearby. There is a small fenced in creche area by the chai tent where tired parents can lie down in comfort while small ones can play/sleep/crawl in safety and be watched. There are kids portions available at reasonable prices at all the caterers.

Disabled facilities

The site is essentially pretty flat and easy to navigate ( unless there is torrential rain ). The toilet facilities are reasonably roomy but not purpose built for wheelchair users. However, no stairs or large steps.
