Southport Jazz Festival 2013

The 13th Southport Jazz Festival moves to a new home, the brand new The Atkinson, in Southport’, Merseyside, taking place from Friday 10th until Sunday 12th May 2013.

Line-up

Friday: James Morton’s Porkchop, The Al Wood Nine, The Nicola Farnon Quartet, Trio Gitan, Dan Forshaw Duo, Mike Smith Quartet, Credo, Chameleon.

Saturday: Sector 7, Gabby Young and the Other Animals, The Bateman Bothers Jazz Band, Go Go Penguin, The Billionaires, The Cottonhouse Shakers, Modjang, Jamie Safiruddin Trio, Trio Gitan, Mercury, Annie Long Duo, Forty4.

Sunday: James Morrison with Swingshift Big Bang, Joe Stilgoe Trio, Kairos 4tet, Milestones Play to the Silent Screen, Perfectly Frank, The Dub Jazz Soundsystem & Marley Chingus, Twin Frets, Savoy Jazz Men, Vernon Fuller, Modjango.

The Southport Jazz Festival for 2013 encompasses The Atkinson - Headline Gigs, The Jazz Festival Village at the Town Hall Gardens and The Fringe Festival across the town.

The 'hub' of the festival at the Town Hall Gardens, Lord Street, hosts local and regional musicians at the FREE outdoor gigs. Grab a deck chair, sit, relax and watch Southport being brought to life with the different styles jazz of concerts throughout the weekend.

From daytime to night time the entertainment doesn't stop, with many of Southport's eating and drinking venues hosting a variety of lunchtime, teatime or night 'Fringe' gigs.

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
