Bristol's FREE event Upfest takes place over the Jubilee Bank Holiday from Saturday 2nd until Monday 4th June 2012, and is Europe's largest Urban Arts Festival. The weekend starts at 11am on Saturday, and 10am on Sunday, with it open again at 11am on Monday which is art viewing day only.

Line-up

250 graffiti artists, plus 40 DJs, bands, and beatboxers.

Descending onto Southville, Bristol they will consume over two miles of the city to paint live for three days and create over 20,000 square foot of artwork.

Charity

The festival helps raise funds and more importantly awareness for the Bristol based charity NACOA, who work to address the problems children have growing up in families where one or both parents suffer from alcoholism. Upfest is a completely volunteer led festival and has so far raised £15,000 for the charity.

Venues

Venues include Tobacco factory, Hen & Chicken, Spotted cow, The Old Book Shop, Try Again Pub, Brewary Theatre, Vector Seating car park, North Street Green, and roads closed include Raleigh Road, and Greville Road.

Other activities

Other activities include kids painting areas in tobacco factory, tea cup painting on North Street Green, and 6 x graffiti workshops run by Graffiti Academy over Saturday and Sunday.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
