A new event for 2012, and hoping to become an annual event, Nuts In May takes place on fifty acres of woodland at Middlemoor, Workington, in Cumbria over the bank holiday weekend Friday 4th to Sunday 6th May 2012 and offers 4,000 festival goers a mix of acoustic, rock, folk, blues, roots and world music.

Hazel O'Connor, Dave Swarbrick and Martin Carthy, Nik Kershaw, The Magic Tombolinos, MJ Hibbett & The Validators, Mad Dog McCrea, The Baghdaddies, Tarantism, Sean Taylor, Steam Radio, Dan Walsh and Will Pound, Mishaped Pearls, Earthling Society, Katus Young, Evie Plumb, The Indian Postal Service, The Dish Of Cheese, and more. Acts will appear across six stages, the main Jack In The Green stage, The Cup Of Wonder Barstage, Tufty's Den, Nut Shack, The Woodland Glade Stage, and Nuts In-Formation (Open Mic Tent).

Tickets

Advance weekend tickets are priced at £34, a young person weekend ticket for those aged 12 to 17 years is priced at £20, and children aged 11 years or under can attend free. Camping is free although there is a small charge for vehicles of £5 per vehicle. To buy tickets, click here.

The family friendly event will also offer Morris and Maypole dancing, storytelling, workshops, kid's events, late night entertainment, food stalls, and the like.

The organising committee includes a team who previously has worked with Solfest. Organisers want to bring the joy and experience of a real festival to their very own doorstep.
