The Coventry Caribbean Festival is in its 21st Year, and celebrates the local Caribbean communities’ diversity, identity and culture running from noon until 9pm on Saturday 30th July 2011 offering an annual hit of jerk chicken, reggae music and sunshine with friends.

There are no acts confirmed yet for 2011, expect a showcase of Coventry’s up and coming talents.

Other entertainment

The Festival has a variety of stalls such as food, arts and craft, toys, information, promotional, charity stalls and also a children's activities marquee. The event will provide a taste of Caribbean food, plus interactive cookery sessions, fairground, and the West Indian Community Centre will be providing a Beer Tent.

Apart from the West Indian Community Centre there is limited venues specifically aimed at the Caribbean community. The Festival is an opportunity not only for celebration, but also provides a focus for information, advice and support on a range of issues such as health, employment, training, sport and education. This is particularly important for young people from the Caribbean Community, who frequently feel alienated from mainstream services and provision who are in need of appropriate support.
