CALO Festival, where the Caribbean meets London, takes place from Friday 19th until Sunday 21st August 2011 at London's Alexandra Palace.

Line-up

The musical line up will bring together some of the biggest names in Soca, Calypso, Reggae, Salsa, Merengue and R&B. Artists include: Capleton, Maxi Priest, Mr Vegas and Gappy Ranks and top Soca artists Machel Montano, Big Band Roy Cape All Stars, Lil Rick and Cuban Latin artists Manolin El Medico,Jah Roots, Darnell Eastwood and Gappy Ranks.

Tickets

Tickets are priced from £25 to £40 or £60 for the weekend. Concession tickets are half price, and there's free admission for children under 12 on Sunday 21st August.

TV chef Rustee Lee will headline the food extravaganza on Sunday, which in addition to a food market showcasing Caribbean cuisine and free food sampling - will see top Caribbean chefs go head to head in the battle of the chefs contest.

The festival will also bring a whole host of additional entertainment and activities for the family include: Steel Pan workshops, Drumming Sessions, Carnival Costume making workshops, Children’s adventure club and Zumba and Soca Aerobics.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
