Open from 11am - 6pm, this cultural celebration takes place on the eve of the Russian ‘Old New Year’ - a celebration of the New Year according to the pre-revolutionary calendar.

The festival plays host to both contemporary and traditional music. This year the line-up includes: Russian pop star, Dima Bilan, headlining again for a second year; plus rock band, Alisa; KuBa duet, Anna Kulikova and Sasha Balakireva; Mark Tishman – winner of the Russian X-Factor Star Factory project; Russian pop group, Fabrika; professional folk group, Slavyanye; dance and song group, The Buryat National Ensemble Baikal; Russian Folk artist, Lyudmila Ryumina; iconic singer, Varvara; vocal trio, Relikt; young band, Shtar; Russian rock group, Sankt Peterburg; retro band, Zemlyane; and young Russian vocalist, Bianka.

Also, with the Russian National Dance Show, performing at the Apollo on the eve of the Winter Festival, there will be a show at the Winter Festival performed by N.P. Osipov, the Russian National Academic Orchestra. The programme will include a varied mix of traditional national dance and contemporary ballet pieces. The troupe consists of more than 50 artists with 200 unique costumes decorated with pearls, silver and gold, all hand-embroidered.

Also featured are Russian arts and crafts in specially constructed Russian kiosks, traditional Russian food (blinis, borsht, pirozhkis and shashlik), Russian children’s games, theatrical and puppet performances plus famous Russian personalities.
