====================
Portsmouth & Southsea Festival is a new festival taking place at Castle Field, Southsea from Thursday 9th to Sunday 12th October.

The event has one main stage in a large tent so festival-goers will not have to worry about the rain and mud as it is being held in a specially constructed tent called a Festival Tent that can hold over 8,000 people which has been used in the past for such events as the Radio 1 'Big Weekend'.

There is a different musical theme for each day, programmed as follows: Local and International Rock & Indie bands will be performing on the Thursday (9th) and the Saturday (11th), Friday night will be a dance night and the Sunday is being staged as a family day with music from the 60s, 70s & 80s.

Artists confirmed for Friday include headliners the Charlatans, and support act Shed 7. Saturday's headliners are Fun Lovin' Criminals. Sunday's line-up includes headliner Kim Wilde, plus other acts including Nick Kershaw, Howard Jones, Go West, and Bjorn Again.

Tickets will be priced between £25 and £40 per day depending upon the event. There was an early bird special offer where all tickets are £25. This offer was open for the first 2000 tickets. Four days ticket were priced at £100.

Note this event has no camping.
