Village 2 Village 2005

A one-day, ticket-only event aiming to raise money for tsunami survivors in particular villages, the idea being to 'twin' Cropredy in what is hoped will become a long-term relationship. While DEC has closed its appeal, tens of thousands of people are still living in tents without the means of earning a living. The organisers aim to repair houses where possible, repair fishing boats and fund job creation such as weaving or carpentry workshops.

Open from 12 noon until midnight, there are 10 bands confirmed so far: The Family Mahone; Professor Funk; Spank the Monkey; Colvin Quarmby; Freeway Jam; The Andy Gutteridge Band; Big Eyed Fish; Deb Sandland; Red Dog; The Sambassadors of Groove, and also featuring, DJ Trollyboy.

Other attractions include Thai foods and a Pig roast and the unveiling of a special real ale brewed especially for the day. Face painters, jugglers and stalls will be also be present throughout most of the day. All set in the beautiful grounds of Prescote Manor.
