The organisers of the proposed Freedom Festival that was to take place at the Larmer Tree Gardens on 16th October 2004 regret to announce that they have been forced to cancel the event. A spokesperson commented, "We have had to withdraw the license application and therefore cancel because the owners of the land withdrew their permission. We will be making a claim for damages and have been advised by our solicitors not to make any further comment".

With a 10,000 capacity, Freedom Festival makes its debut with a selection of arenas (Main Stage hosted by Saint and Sinner, Breaks Arena in association with Fingerlickin Records – TCR and Twisted Trax, “Old Skool Arena” hosted by the legendary Ratpack and Club Destiny, Hard House/Trance Arena in association with High Society – Passion – Euphoria and Abzorbtion and V.I.P/V.I.F Arena) filled with some of the finest musical talent around including Shapeshifters (Live P.A of “Lola’s Theme”), Erick Morillo, Joey Beltram, Danny Rampling, Alex P and Brandon Block, Ratpack, Tayo, Drummatic Twins, Lee Coombs, JDS, Bryan Gee, Kenny Ken, JFK and Soul Of Man.

Other promised entertainment includes a full funfair, extreme sports rides, street performers, laser shows and a festival village.
