This is a not for profit, month-long music festival which runs everyday throughout August, providing both free and ticketed events, from the Princes Street Gardens, beneath the castle. A very varied line up is offered including pop, rock, jazz, fusion, blues, classical, world, folk, dance and more, kicking off with the Edinburgh International Jazz and Blues Festival on Sunday 1st August from noon until 6pm followed by Albafest until around 9.30pm.

Artists performing during the month include: Peter Andre; Matt Goss (from Bros); Blazin' Squad; Kate Rogers (FREE); the Scottish Chamber Orchestra with soloist Nicola Benedetti and conductor, Christopher Austin; several Big Issue Benefit Concerts; Hull University Big Band, Acoustic Idols, Ian Siegal and Marsada (FREE); Simon Hewitt Jones Ensemble, John Hunt, Lee Britain and Peter Rowan (FREE); Michael Ball with West End guests; Anna Neale; and a showcase of classical and traditional music to name just a few!

There's also a kids event with The Happy Gang, and a 'Go 4 It' Day.
