Sounds from the Other City is a new music festival which takes over Chapel Street, Salford from 3pm to midnight on Sunday 1st May.

Now Wave, Comfortable on a Tightrope, High Voltage and Hey! Manchester are some of the promoters hosting stages at this event.

Acts lined up include D/R/U/G/S, Money, Creep, The Twilight Sad, The Kill Van Kulls, Darren Hayman, The Wave Pictures, David Thomas Broughton, Barn Owl, Richard Youngs, Jefre Cantu Ledesma, Cath & Phil Tyler, Outshine Family, Part Wild Horses Mane On Both Sides, Anta, Ageing, Drunk in Hell, Trojan Horse, Primal Device, Factory Star, The Blimp, Urchins, The Inflictors, Death to the Strange, Sandbox, The Suns, Aidan John Moffat, Frazer King, Milk Maid, Easter, Spaceghost, Nasdaq, Neil Bell, Butchers, WODE, Lauren Bolger, Rainbow Arabia, Patterns, The Steals, With That Knife, Christian Aids, Those Dancing Days, Young British Artists, Mammal Club, The Louche FC, Weird Era, Action Beat, Capac, Zing, The Kites Of San Quentin, Sonny & the Sunsets, Animals & Men, Feel Right Irma Vep, Fixers, Denis Jones, Temperatures, Plank!, Day for Airstrikes, Deaf to van Goghs Ear, Fetch the Witches, Films, Anchorsong, and Dr Mahoganys Goat Circus. The full line up will include 78 live acts on 13 stages. Eagulls have pulled out.

As well as music the event will offer art installations, karaoke, spoken word, croquet, yarn-bombing, fine booze and food.

Venues

Venues taking part include the huge Old Pint Pot, St Philips Church, Islington Mill and Salford University's Peel Hall.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
