THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
Nailstock has been cancelled, organisers hope to be back in 2012. A statement says:

Regrettably the Nailstock Festival scheduled for 2011 has had to be postponed due to lack of ticket sales.

The Nailstock organising committee met on the 12th of April and voted to postpone the event until 2012.

This decision was taken in order to protect traders, performers and festival goers as advanced ticket sales where not strong enough to guarantee the event could go forward.

This was to be the first year that the event was a ticket only event rather than free entry. This was as a result of the 2008 event being so popular that licensing has been imposed requiring much more rigorous control on numbers attending.

Also Spiralling costs associated with security, licensing, and equipment meant that without strong advanced sales the event could potentially not cover its costs. The event was designed to make a profit to be used to support local organisations and services such as the sub rooms, Nailsworth Youth centre and Nailsworth Library. All organisation has been on a voluntary basis and the 100s of hours expended will now be in invested in planning next year's event.

All ticket holders will be refunded and deposits made by traders will also be returned. Those people who supported the festival by buying advanced tickets will also be offered a discount next year in recognition.

We realise that this news will be disappointing to many local people but hope that given the circumstances this will be recognised as the right decision.
