Now in it's 21st year The Salaam Music Village Festival will have a mixture of UK and international Islamic artists performing over a course of 17 days.

Salaam, which means peace in Arabic sums up the ethos of the festival. The event hopes to highlight the key examples of peaceful co-existence between Muslims and followers of other faiths.

There will be storytellers, speakers and workshop leaders, as well as open air festival weekends in Kew Gardens (1st and 2nd of July) and Regents Park (8th and 9th of July). In addition to this the festival will be running evening concerts at 16 venues around London.

There are participating artists from all over the world, from:
Bosnia: Sultan Mehmet Fatih Sufi group from Sarajevo
China: Dolan Muqam Uyghur ensemble from Xinjiang
Egypt: Sheikh Yaseen el Tuhamy, Sufi singer from Assyut
India: Rani Khanam, Kathak dance
Indonesia: Rafly & Kande from Aceh & Ubiet from Jakarta
Iraq: Angam al-Rafidain traditional music ensemble from Baghdad
Kenya: Zein L¹Abdin, Taarab music from Mombasa
Morocco: Aissawa Sufi Brotherhood of Said Guissi from Fes
Pakistan: Mehr Ali & Sher Ali, Qawaali from Faisalabad
Turkey Latif Bolat, Sufi instrumental
Yemen: Fanun al Yemen ensemble from Sana¹a
United Kingdom: 9 ensembles from London¹s Muslim communities: Fantazia
(UK/Algeria); Yusuf Mahmood (Afghanistan); Ameer Khan (Pakistan); Nara (Syria); Sabari (Senegal); Al Hurriya (Palestine); Arash Moradi & Fariborz Kiani (Iran); Haleshla (Morocco); Forever Haqqani (Sudan)
