Merthyr Rock

Merthyr Rock's festival site is based in Cyfartha Park, a public, Grade II Listed Historic Park located 1.5 miles north of Merthyr Tydfil town centre.

Started in 2011 Merthyr Rock aims to become a signature event that will raise Wales' international profile, attract a large audience from home and abroad and inspire and mobilise the local community.

The team responsible for Hay Festivals worldwide work with the local community to bring an international-standard festival to Merthyr Tydfil. Local meets international and brings together a line-up of organisations, the Community Programme will involve a broad range of people, from local disadvantaged youth to professional music educators; introducing vocational opportunities, support, progression and accreditation.

The priority is to create an event that will benefit Merthyr all year round and further build a sustainable music industry in Wales.

The event was cancelled in 2013 but returned the following year.
