The 14th Maryport Blues Festival will take place from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th July 2012 with the main stage this year at the smaller Wave centre Maryport.

Line-up

Friday: Solway Delta Blues Band, House of 3 Hands, The Mentulls, Krissy Matthews.

Saturday: Albany Down, Gerry Jablonski and The Electric Band, The Juke Joints, Todd Sharpville's Blues Review feat Nick Moss and Debbie Davies.

Sunday: Black River Bluesman & Bad Mood Hudson, Ben Poole, Marcus Malone, Chris Farlowe & Cliff Bennett's Rhythm and Blues Band.

Blues Trail Bands: River Devils, Dr Truth, Rory, Rhythm Zoo, Dog House Boat Boys, The Revenues, Ben Poole Band, Early Mac Band (Green Mac), Paint It Blue, Cherry Lee Mewis, Gerry Jablonski, Poorboy, Snakewater, Clare Free, and more to be confirmed.

There will be music on the smaller Wave centre (which is smaller than usual so once tickets go on sale make sure to book them early to avoid disappointment) and in pubs & clubs around town. The line-up will feature over 40 bands and 150 individual musicians from all over the globe who will be performing in the main stage marquee, in the pubs and clubs, on an outdoor stage and on the street, will be announced soon.

Tickets

Early bird tickets are priced at £58 for the whole weekend and include a trail wristband, a limited amount will be available up until 1st July and can only be purchased from the new venue for 2012 the wave centre (01900 811450). A Town Trail only weekend wristaband is also available priced at £15, or £6 per day.

Entertainment

As well as two main stages there is usually a DJ room, a visual arts and workshop area, a festival club, film programme, children's festival, an expanded market festival bazaar, and a silent disco.

Workshops

The programme of workshops has not yet been announced. Workshops take place on either Saturday or Sunday, start at 10.30am and last one hour. Tickets will be available, priced around £5 each, from The Wave and the Blues Festival Office (The Maritime Museum).

There are also numerous stalls selling musical instruments, crafts and so forth, Fair Trade goods, and information stalls on issues of global interest. Plus workshops include drumming and guitar.

Coaches

Coaches will be running over the weekend transporting festival goers between Maryport and the local towns. Return journeys are available on the Friday, Saturday & Sunday between Maryport and the following towns: Carlisle, Wigton, Aspatria, Keswick, Cockermouth, Egremont, Cleator Moor, Whitehaven and Workington.
