The dates for the third Lounge on the Farm music festival, which takes place at Merton Farm in Canterbury, are confirmed as Friday 11th to Sunday 13th of July 2008.

The ethos of the festival is to give local bands and musicians a platform upon which to perform alongside established acts from round the country. There will be a new stage this year called Tractor Trash which is a moving stage.

The bands who have been confirmed include headliners New York Dolls on Saturday, and The Coral (playing acoustic) on Sunday. Plus Mystery Jets, Terry Hall, Bonobo, Polar Bear, Mike Strutter Group, Los Campesinos!, Art Brut, Black Kids, Pete Molinari, Sonny J, Sargasso Trio, Lightspeed Champion, The Bees, Findlay Brown, Shortwave Set, The Bookhouse Boys, Cagedbaby,Filthy Dukes, Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, Wild Billy Childish & The MBE, Holly Golightly & The Broke Offs, and Underground Heroes. There are also some DJs confirmed Midfield General, DJ Jon Carter, Dub Pistols Sound System, Toddla T, Cadence Weapon, Kevin Rowland (Dexy's Midnight Runners), and Aba Shanti Soundsystem. There are also many more DJs to be added to the line-up.

Tickets were on sale at earlybird prices, now they are full price. The full prices for tickets will be weekend ticket £85, child (6-15) weekend ticket £40, adult day ticket £35, child day ticket £20, family weekend ticket £80 limited to 200 tickets. To buy tickets at these prices click here.

The site is be open for campers from Friday 9am until the Monday at 1pm. Aside from the music, there will be plenty of amazing attractions including The Village Green with ciders, beers and food concessions where all the goods are sourced from within a 20 mile radius of the site, a solar cinema, there will also be the Little Lounge and Red Tent to keep the younger crowd occupied and the School Of Rock that will be unearthing Kent's future stars.

Lounge on the Farm have also announced a 'cook off' competition where festival goers are asked to come up with a culinary treat that is a 'Kentish Heritage Recipe'. They are looking for a traditional Kent recipe that has been handed down through the generations. Anyone who has a suitable dish is asked to submit their recipes to recipe@loungeonthefarm.co.uk or in person at the Samphire Restaurant, Whitstable. TV's MasterChef Gregg Wallace will pick the winner that will gain a place on the Samphire Restuarant's menu where the winner's details will be displayed in full glory whilst they dine on a complementary dinner for four.

The fancy dress theme for this year's Lounge on the Farm is farm hands.
