Galloway's festivals may not have been heard of south of the border but they've been running twice-yearly celtic/roots/world music festivals in the hills of Scotland's Southern Uplands since 1998.

The Ceilidh Gall Gallowa' Spring festival is set on the upland meadows of Knockengorroch farm, amidst the remote Galloway Hills at the foot of the Cairnsmore, by the banks of the Deugh.

This year's line-up features: Transglobal Underground; Celloman; Sun Honey; Nusa; Diwan; Phamie Gow Band; Magatte Dieng/Jali Kebba Suso; Asassenachs; Kwame D; Newroz; Toki Doki Deiko and Ahab plus late night DJS.

There's also TePooka, a Celtic fire spectacular; wind and solar powered cinema from Pixie Pictures; street theatre; wind and solar powered sauna and hot showers; a healing yurt; workshops (many geared to kids), Greenwood Arts, circus skills, Tai Chi, belly dancing, celtic banner making and juggling. Spontaneous music will happen throughout the weekend in the Al Kheema Acoustic village.

For children , the Kids' Marquee runs creative activities throughout Saturday and Sunday, culminating in a childrens' procession on Sunday afternoon. The gates open at 10am every day and day tickets are available. Weekend tickets include camping.
